Thanks, I think you are on to it.  It currently has no overtravel switches and can really suck power if up against the stop (potentially frying the motor or pop the circuit). Micro switches would prevent that.  I still want to know where the trim is set, and that is why I am asking if anyone has an old schematic or parts list or whatever. I saw the earlier post toa pot with wiper on it, but I am not sure how that would be hooked up in my situation.  While it would be nice to go with a "better" newer jet and go hydraulic and have all the nice stuff, what I got is what I got ...unless I win the lottery :-)

Funny you should mention the micro switches, as I was thinking of using them to interrupt the drive signal in whichever overtravel position so I dont burn this old turkey up at least.
For now I just set the trim when I set the boat into the lake and leave it alone (slightly down).

I have a JF berk run by a wiper motor (?) per Tom at Jet Boat. Wonder how this would work.
Thinking I could hook a wire string to the end of it and have the travel of the shaft egenrate the motion to correlate to the trim setting. SOunds nice in theory :-)
Wish I could find how it was done originally as otehrwsie everything works on this old berk just fine.

swaging (ie swagelok, parker etc) is easy and does not require an additional tool. You can use a fitting to pre swage the fitting to the stainless.  then you simply connect to the fitting (pipe to swage). These are a type of common  compression fittings. Thanks for reminding me of this option.  I am thinking lake water would be easy on the fitting/tubing and should work fine... if I can find my spiffy bender and remember the math.

I may have some ss in my barn from the old days. I remember making canoe handles out of ss micropolish and vcr fitngs.  Because I could. Dang... if I had half the stuff I thredw away back in those days. I like the hard plump from a cost perspective too. The ss flex looks pricey. Tx foe pics...I am motivated finally

Nice!  The hard plumb jobs reminds me of stuff I sued to do years ago in another life.  Those ook like parker fittings or swagelok and ss tubing.  Hmmm. Wonder where my bender is ?

Actually, I think I will still go stainless braid this fall when it cools off.  I was out doing some maintenance on the boat until about 2 pm and came in as I was pretty hot. CHecked the thermometer and it was 112. Sheesh, time to head for th lake!

Fwiw- I really like the rattle can brake caliper paint availible at auto smucks or wherever... it really holds up to temps, abrasion, and solvents ( it will hold up under drenching with brake fluid!).

I have a ball valve on the hard-line coming in the boat (wide-open) incase I blow a line off (I can shut it and not sink).

one of my flappers is pretty beat, is that a problem? until I get a replacement?

Thought  I would try to gather in one place pics of water line and fuel line install pics. I liked the MOO pictures elsewhere and several others a they showed really clean installs and some ideas on why they ran them that way. I am considering hard plumb (effect on diameter and flow) or going to stainles flex lines (ala my washer at home) as it would seem that a good leak or burst hose might sink my boat if the sump pumps cannot keep up.  After some stories on this site it seems like this might be one of my most important first upgardes for safety/reliability.

Sorry.  Hang in there. I know it sucks and its looking pretty dim.  I had to start a new biz in 2001 after being downsized and in the same week my best dog died, my Dad died, my car blew up,  and I had to have a root canal ($). maybe the weekend after? this next weekend I have to put together a race bike and hit the honeydo list that has been langusihing ever since I got the Dirga Dirga. My wife says all I do now at home is work on the boat and go to the lake.  Whats her point? 

I just mention would she prefer that I go back to racing bikes full time?
