Stick a little poker in that hole after you take that plug out, maybe can break up whatever is in there and get it to flow.

It got to blowing pretty good. We we're in the back bay for a couple hours and then it kicked up. Figured we'd float back to Harry's and pack it in. Too bad you had to take off. I opened up the Tiki Bar after wiping down the boat.....

Yeah was gettin time to go home for the day. Catch ya next time though. You've got a nice boat man. I dug it. Want to take mine out this weekend but don't want to deal with all the crazies from outta town. Noticed a lot of boats in town filling up and getting ready for the water.

Launching right now... time for a little R&R  8)

Saw you out there in your boat floating by lazys parking lot. Stopped there for a minute in the work truck. Had to leave as you were pulling up to the ramp. Nice boat man. A bit windy out there.

Borrowed the guage from a guy at work, brand is U.S. general. I believe thats a Horbor Freight brand. Came with three NPT adapters, I used the 3/8 adapter. I guess to get a better reading I need to leave it hooked up while cruising the lake and a nice hot engine.

Thanks man.

Without touch taste smell and feel it's hard to say..... I don't really see anything wrong with the 20w-50 as long as the temperatures and clearances will support it.

I guess that is a convoluted way of saying not enough info. ;D

GT

Lol my bad. I should know better. My gauge in the dash maxes out at 80# and when I first start the boat it shoots right up to 80 and pegs the gauge. Only goes down to about 65-70# at idle after 5000 rpm runs. It's a 454. Holds 7 quarts of valvoline vr1 20/50. Remote mount single filter. Unfortunately I don't know the clearances or anything about the internals. Bought the motor used out of another guys jetboat that cracked the hull do he was parting it out. Previous owner said he ran 20/50 in it so I thought it would be best to use the same stuff. I guess I should stick to the old saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it" lol.

I don't mean to scare you or anything. Just mine were so badly eaten up they were leaking gas. I mean a water leak is one thing but a gas leak is downright scary.

Cool, glad you guys had a good time. Be careful with those fiberglass tanks. They are a ticking time bomb. The fiberglass resin doesn't like the new gas nowadays. I replaced mine last year with some aluminum ones. Keep an eye out on Craigslist or something for some tanks that will fit your hull.

What size thread is that plug? And where did you get the gauge? My oil pressure pegs the gauge on the dash. Also I'm running valvoline 20/50 so maybe I should switch to a lighter oil. I don't know. I just figured its better than having no oil pressure. What say you GT?

Yea I hear em out there. I like the afternooners too but got no copilot right now. So is it this dude, Hoofy? Oh, welcome aboard Hoofy.

You talking about the one with the old yellow truck and lifted older white chevy? Thats a blown flatty with a bbc. It's called "whiskey jack". Guy goes by the name of woody.

I either park at Harry's (red quadcab with the Bahner sticker), or the wife parks it back in the driveway after launching.

I'll keep an eye out. Ill be in a dark grey Titan with a hallett sticker with a blue/white 19ft hallett w/ blue trailer.

I never leave my truck there. Got a house off castle rock on the water :) launch at lazy harrys leave my boat in all week :)

I've seen your truck and boat there. Nice place. Pretty cool that the island protects your boat from all the traffic when you leave it in the water.

I don't know if you want to deal with currents and such from the Colorado river or if you want the open-ness of lake Mohave. Only bad thing about Mohave is if a pretty good wind comes up it can get a bit rough. Don't know what kind of boat or size of boat you have so that might not even be an issue for you. If you go to the lake you can launch at Katherine's landing. But Katherine's turns into a zoo when it gets busy in the afternoons. I like princess cove at the lake. Or if you go to the river you can launch at a number of places such as big bend, riverside launch, or on arizona side there is bullhead community park or rotary park. As you can see you have a lot of choices.

How long is the cable on the pedal? And is it a 33c?

I just run valvoline vr1 20 50 I know is has zinc in it, but do you guys run a zinc additive with oil that already has zinc in it? Was considering it but don't know. And to the op, I've got a buddy with a bbc that runs delo oil and has no problems.

Make sure you get the correct "reach" plug for your heads. I have the 049 oval ports and run ac delco R43t, which are the short reach.

Long reach=.750
Short reach=.460
