For the issue we are dealing with- this is a new motor, it was built the end of last season and noticed water in the oil.  Chalk that one up to new ring not seated????  take it back to builder A- log gasket no good- replace, retry.  No water in oil.  Winner- this season first trip, no water, second trip water.  F builder A-  So now he goes to builder B- says that exhuast outlets to high and water is being trapped- lowers the outlets, next trip no water.  Next trip- water- calls builder B- "check your flaps", no good new flaps- no water, next trip water- :banghead:   :banghead:

That is what I thought- if you get water flowing back up the exhuast, it should hydro?, not dump a cup of water into the oil pan- :sly:

It is funny you should post this topic- we just got back from the lake and a close friend is having the exact same issues with his 455 oldsmabubble- He just got the motor back from 2 very well known and renowned motor builders and they are both claiming that it has to do with the exhaust- logs-  something to the effect of it sloshing back through the exhuast and down the cylinders into the oil- I call Bull Sh*t!!!  what kind of exhuast are you running???

Gelcoat / Paint / Fireberglass Repair / waxes polishes etc-
« on: March 28, 2008, 09:44:25 PM »
Sorry if this is getting posted in the wrong section, but what kind of waxes or polishes are used on you all's boats.  The new Hondo's gel is in pretty good shape accept for couple small areas where it looks like the glitter is begining to go flat- Here is the odd part- if I polish thease areas they shine up, but the depth does not come back, but if I use my finger or oil off my skin it comes back like new- any ideas??????

Rexmar and cp sell the standard dealios, as for small- if you can not find it at those places, check your local dirt bike shop- some company makes them for race bikes, I think they will work on any motor- they are little digital jobbers-

We were in parker last weekend for the ski races and were talking to a well known socal motor builder about my olds and he used the analogy- a jet boat is alway being driven up hill- cooler the better-  UNLESS- you are in race situation were you are looking for maximum output, then temp is a different story- after driving and riding in the jet boats I have ridin in and seeing the temp always at 100-135- then take this new jobber out and I am seeing 150- 195?????   "what the hell did I just get myself involved with"

We took the boat out this afternoon and came across something I had never seen before in a jet boat- Temperature-  Help from the Guru's Please-   This thing runs 150 to 190 water temp- acted almost like it has a thermostat-  Do these things have that???  My old boat and all my buddies boats run 100- 135????
