Ok so all interior is torn out and they have started building some pieces. The side panel on the drivers side is made as well as the drivers seat(didnt get a picture of that). They found some rot under one of the batteries in the back but the stringer underneath looks good so should only need a patch job.Pretty excited about how it gonna come out we were talking about the different stuff they are gonna do and some things have changed from the original design for the better.

Do you have a specific design in mind or did you give them free reign?

I met with Eddie for over an hour and picked out colors and design, new design is ditch the dog house cover and jump seats and put a bench with rear hatch cover. The interior is going to be completly redone basically everything you see including the carpet is going in the trash and everything will be new. There is a few design ideas where they will not know if they have the room to accomplish it until they actually get in there.

Interior / Re: what wood for new seat frames?
« on: November 29, 2011, 11:58:11 AM »
I used 1/2" marine ply, but like ka0tyk said regular 1/2" is fine.
Marine ply is double the cost.
I glass the crap outta mine.

I've heard people tell me if im going to resin it not to use marine grade plywood cause it doesnt soak the resin like the regular plywood does, did you experience this?

yeah i saw the relief cuts (slices) AFTER i did my seats.  totaly a better route to go.  then again i built mine inside my office.  oh well, ill use that tip for the next boat!

another tip, like how you see in 76bonneville's and mine, leave a little tack strip along the bottom inside so the upholstery guy has something to shoot staples into, and DONT go crazy with the glass there or else they wont be able to shoot the staples through it.  also no sharp corners.

So are you laying fiberglass in the corners then putting down the tack strip over it?Also are you resoning the tack strip or just leaving it raw?

In most cases air will get trapped in the bow letting it bob in the water like a fishing lure. Hook a tow rope to the bow eye and start dragging it until you can get it float a bit and start bailing water.

So being that mine is an open bow im pretty screwed if that ever happens to me. :banghead:

Were you there that weekend? I think I talked to you... We pulled up for a minute and were joking about the floating portapoty (yeah I can't spell)...

Sent while on the run, or sitting at work bored

Not me I wasn't there that weekend I like elsinore but the misses refuses to ski there so if she has the skiing itch than we head to silverwood as a local lake.
