 Steve, I ran those short ones for one trip.  Didnt notice much difference in performance compared to running them open.  But they ere loud, try them first.   Borrow Ralphs and try them before spending the money, or let me know and you can borrow mine too. 

 Like the knowledge master (beerjet) said "prepare for an all black transome and lots of wiping down with cleaners".  Mine really isn't that messy, but I have very very little water going to the headers.

 Put a towel down before you set things on the boat !!!!!   And carefully put those pipes back in there box and send them to me before you hurt yourself. 

 The only reason you need therapy is if you think theres something wrong with that.  Myself, I dont see a problem.

What bout summit cam and lifters for 100 bucks 

Edit: FWIW, also have a cam and lifter set you can have, only 20 minutes run time, from the original tossed rod engine from the Moo. Looks fine, but have no idea what make or grind it is, but it's yours to try Jeff if you need it. (Might get you in the water quick!, was supposed to be a hot lil number according to the PO) I'll try and get pics tomorrow or Wednesday of it.

 I really appreciate the offers guys !!!   But, there's something really wrong with it this time. I really don't understand what the problem is, but I cranked it over to check compression a few days later (5 cylinders at 170, 2 at 165, 1 at just under 165) not bad for an 8 year old motor.  And all of a sudden after checking the first cylinder, all the rockers where tight again and everything looked normal   .  I know for sure the lifters werent collapsed like that when it was running (would have been really noisy) so it had to do it after it was shut down.   Bad thing is the oil was full of powdered metal, and it was all the way up in the heads (went through the motor).  I didn't see it up there at first, but when I was cleaning things up there was a layer of it under the oil in all the little recesses in the heads.      Its OK, Ive got a floaty chair for the pool where I can make vroom vroom noises, and the boat wanted more power anyway, and it made it home !!!!   Cant swing a new motor build for it right now so it has to wait for winter.  This is going to an expensive winter. 

The good news is this gives me more time to be on here and provide 2sav with as much "motivation" as needed until he gets that boat of his wet !!!!

 #6   I want to, but the new loader bearing hasn't gotten here yet.

 #8   I need to rotate the air in the trailer tires.

 #9   Its dirty, so I'm going to take it all apart to clean it.

 #10   I dont build boats to use them, I just need something to spend all my extra money on.

 WOW that one is realy special !!   600hp out of a single carb tunnel ram  , maybe, I think I see a big blue bottle in there.  But 114 mph, with 600hp, in a Hawaiian, I think NOT !!

 Chaz,  Is there any thing else running through that fuse ?  Is the fuse right by the pump ?   If I remember right those pumps should have less then 10A of current drain.  If theres nothing else running through that fuse and the fuse is by the pump (to rule out a short on the wire between the fuse and the pump), then throw that pump away.  The motor in it is bad.  Dont run it like that (your ghetto foil fuse) or it will start melting wires.

Well boys, I found my HP issue.   

 After 8 yrs of faithfull service the Mighty BBF is hurt.     It was down to 4100rpm yesterday and sounded bad doing it.  I pulled the valve covers tonight and found a handful of rockers with lots and lots of "clearance".  Looks like it ate the cam.

 Now I'm boatless again., in the middle of summer, AGAIN !!!!  SON OF A ##### !!!!!!! 

 I'm not sure what the plan will be yet.  I need to talk to my motor guy, but I do know I need more power.   Might go for a BIG stroker, or something bottle fed, or both !! 

 Anybody have a blower manifold for a 460 sitting around ?

 Skip,  Its just east of Mendota on 180. Not really sure where the water comes from, but I really liked the place.  No rollbar boats/wake barges, they would be stuck between the bridges where the ramp is (very small area, and low bridges  ),  I didn't get to explore the place but I was told it goes on for a long way.

 So, this means "Friday 7/3" is going to be round 2.     I'll make sure to call before Friday if I need anything.
