What's this video you speak of?

Harry's got it, mostly. Restricting the oil, rerouting the oil, IMO, is not such a good thing. You can never get too much oil to any part of any engine, IMO. Yes, drainback is the main issue.  Hand grinding all casting flash, and even smoothing the lifter valley and tops of the cylinder heads is never a bad idea. A windage tray, crank scraper, and large capacity oil pan with trap doors is a must. Do that, you should have a good 6000 rpm Olds engine that will hold it's own with the chebbies and ferds.

Simple Physics over re-engineering what millions was spent to make it the reliable torque monster it is. Control where the oil goes and limit it's chance to "froth", you're GTG!

Just my humble opinion.   Ok. :screwy:

Sounds to me like tuning issues.
1.If the plugs hit pistons you'd really have problems.
2. Look at timing/carburetion.

Freeze plugs are child's play, how are you removing them now?

All I have to say is.....Morgan knocker with a dent pulling attachment and a 3/16" drill bit, takes 30 seconds each plug. ;)

GT

Currently I remove them with a Shot Gun :sly:

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: ARE machine
« on: February 13, 2010, 05:53:18 PM »
1. I like cleaning first....for inspection/integrity of cores. (Iprefer to remove all bearings/plugs before first cleanse)
2. Then after machining.....as much cleaning as it takes....over and over again.
3. it doesnt matter what machines you use...just CLEAN!

                                        just MHO.
