The No Wake Zone / Re: What did you do to your boat today?
« on: March 06, 2015, 07:28:25 PM »

thanks man.

does it help slow boat down at end of pass?

(sorry, im writing a book >:D)  joking, pardon the 20 questions
Haha no worries, I don't mind.
The pop off slows the boat down at the end of the run. 👍👍 the black thing on the clean out of the pump

setup looks good!

quick question.....(see pic)
Yes there's holes drilled behind the angle that lets the water come out. It keeps the boat perfectly in neutral when on the holding rope. 👍👍👍👍

Got that all dialed in now. Drilled and tapped a 1/2 20 hole and got the air ran to work and pivot good. Next I'll drill some holes for the diverter up stop. Iam going to send the arm and bucket to Embee on Monday. 👍👍👍

That's the way I had it set up. But the way the ram was pivoting weird and it cracked.

just curious....why an air ram?  are you using air to actuate f/r....?  would that be a full forward/full reverse application only....no 'neutral'?
Iam using this in a drag racing app so only need forward and neutral. But yes, also there's not really a neutral on normal set up boats, but yes there would only be f/r

Place diverter got us our new arm for our diverter. I am going to drill and tap it so I can use an air ram to open my f/r bucket. 👍👍👍

Ok so if I take them out to put the stringers in I should put them back. I know dumb question but I'm asking lol

Sent from my garage drinking a cold PBR
yes! Also you may want to put something in there to keep the deck from sagging wile your doing the stringers.

The engine is off the stand and in the morning it will be loaded in the truck with the heads and all the other parts and taken down to Bostick. Can't wait to get this engine process moving forward. And still have the question I put up yesterday about the supports under the bow. Is that there for extra support or is that in all boats?

Sent from my garage drinking a cold PBR
they are for extra support and so the deck doesn't sag from the weight.

More importantly would be if it were to break at speed and flip the boat.
Exactly joe. It's a good habit to get into guys. 👍👍👍

Same here for the grade 8 bolts 5/16ths. I use the grade 8 flat washers and nylocks only because lucas and ADBA tech requires it. Don't use slotted hardware use Allan's 👍👍👍👍
Also it's a good idea to check your loaders guys. I inspect mine each night with red dye to check for cracks. http://m.grainger.com/mobile/product/CRC-Weld-Check-Penetrant-48J408

Jet Pumps / Re: Thoughts on Place Diverter's Droop and Rideplate
« on: February 24, 2015, 02:46:21 PM »

1984 Tahiti. Hardin and Caribbean made the same hull. It is a real solid and heavy boat for what it is. 18ft long

Here is a pic of the exact same boat: http://www.vintagejetboats.com/showthread.php?5547-Caribbean-Hardin-Marine
I would try it out. Also a place Diverter if you don't have one already.
