well looks like im out. the rain screwed everything up for me. still have not got the boat running and the trailer is still not ready have fun guys. take some pics !!

i got it on right. did some tinkering and had a buddy help me out. almost got it started yesterday but the ignition wire burned up. we redid all the wiring and since the previous owner wired everything together with tape i think it wasnt getting enough power to the ignition. now its getting 12 volts to the ignition and having no resister in there isnt gonna work. i ordered a pertronix electric ignitor kit on monday so hopefully i will have it running this weekend  thanks a lot for your help though man. appreciate it

no he didnt run the motor. he said he put it to tdc and pointed it to number 1. but now i cant get the cap on right.

still havent got it fired yet. my truck is being a ..... so ive trying to figure out that problem. got to working more on the boat this morning but sliced a good chunk of skin off my finger. looks like maybe some stiching is needed  

anyways does anyone have a polished scoop for a single carb. thats all i need to complete the build. anybody have one

when i first bought my kona it had the logs and when i removed them mine had a gasket on there. looked like just a plain jane automotive gasket. never leaked or anything and this gasket was shot when i took it apart. it was coming off in pieces. good luck with your boat

got the headers on the other day. im loving the way its coming together  unfortunately got into a car accident on wedsneday and got some pinched nerves in my back. its killing me but still trying to get the wiring together to get it running today

uh i dont think that was me your thinking of. my tank is under the bow. i was trying to figure out where and how to mount my batteries

the motor is finally back !!!

Got it back last tuesday finally. wasnt really the color we discussed over the phone as i wanted an orange block with silver or satin heads and intake but i guess its okay looking. definately gonna swap the valve covers with chrome ones. anybody have a set for an olds ?? anyways got it all back. the rod bearing on number four was bad, all saved and gone. looks like the guy before me did not rebuild the motor last year. FIGURES ! oh well thats why its best to do everything over yourself for peace of mind right ? everything is pretty much new. all the mounts were polished up including the water pump cover and a few otherr things. got it in the boat on saturday and ready for me to start putting it together and back on the water

i switched from having logs and snails to open headers on my olds but im not sure how the water lines go. there were 2 lines going to one log on the old exhaust and now on the headers theres only one. i know that one line gets teed off to both headers and the other one goes out the back with a regulator but what about the water coming from the water pump cover ? any help would be great. pictures would be awesome

still coming along on the boat. got some battery trays made up and ready to put in. just took some aluminum from the garage and starting measuring and cutting. its just a simple tray. ill post some pics up later today of them. got both the new steering cable and the forward\reverse cable in. also took some more aluminum and made a plak for the perko switch. motor should be here tomorrow.... hopefully

picked up a decent tandem trailer last week with brakes. got it for cheap so got to sanding and fixing yesterday. gonna throw some paint on it tomorrow.

Oh okay cool. Thanks for the info. I'm gonna start sanding a little tomorrow and finish it up on Sunday. Just need to decide on a color now. Should I match the truck or boat
