WTB / Re: Short PlaceDiverter Handle?
« on: January 29, 2015, 12:11:04 PM »

Has anyone made a shortened manual PD handle, or know where I could get one? The standard length handle on my stringer mount pd is not really gonna work for my setup.
call Tim at place diverter. He mite have something for you. 👍👍👍

That's what came with the kit and what Edelbrock suggests.>>?
I agree. i used the normal squared jetting 2 passes and dumped down the fuel side because it was so fat. It killed my plugs The recomended jetting from Edelbrock and NOS is a fat tune up for sure. Also spark plug gap plays a good role in the tune.

Ok, so you have to lock out your timing on the msd- 8970 retard box too. If I am running a fuel safety switch to the solenoids (say set 6 psi) should I really have to worry about a lean condition?
6 lbs is good for the safety switch. Start with retarding 2 degrees for every 50 hp shot of nitrous. That will give you a good base line for tuning. 👍👍👍👍
I don't like using the same fuel pump for both nitrous and motor but that's me. I use a Holley blue for the nitrous side and now a aeromotive with a bypass for the motor side.

I get my stuff from Sher fab in Ontario, the staff there is super helpful.  get a quart of Prestec super clear and a quart of the color gel you want. Mix 1:1 and I spray mine out of a harbor freight gun. 👍👍👍. Doing it this way should be a walk away finish. Bad photo example attached.

Gotcha ya it's alot of dough, Andy and bostick have me on a lil different tune up so I need something that can pull atleast 11. Trust me that 6 was sounding great. But if I had as much hp as you without the spray I probably wouldn't need a big shot either. Congrats on your new set up! Should be a rocket!

"RTCP"
Thanks buddy. Yeah, we're not planing on hitting her with more than a 200 shot we will see what the first parker race brings us. 👍👍👍

What is the price difference between what you got and what you wanted?

I ve had the digital 6 in the boat since i built it in 2011. Also brand new the 6 is 320 bucks from summit and the 7 is 850 from summit.

Know what your saying,  can you retard 11 degrees with the 6 digital 6520?? My understanding it only lets you go 9.9. Which would be ok on a 200 shot but 250 shot kinda pushing it.

"RTCP"

well the rule of thumb is 2 degrees for every 50. 9.9 degrees would be just fine for a 250. On our 150 tune up we ran Sinoco 110 with 4.7 degrees of retard with an NGK -8 gaped at 28. it was still on the fat side but not by much.
I like the digital 7, if i had the money this season i would have switched to that. next season for sure and a Data system

. Yeah that's a great idea in a river boat 114 degrees black flo coat = blister feet for sure. I'm going with a high low shag carpet in mine. Not to mention to many beers flo coat = busted ass.

Started on the wiring panel today for the race boat. Got the timer for the nitrous and place diverter, digital 6,the air valves for the forward neutral bucket and the pop off open/reset. I still need to add in 2 relays for the nitrous side fuel pump and the diverter. 👍👍👍

No offence to Kevin. Guy gave us a great deal on a carb, ended up being a pile of shit! John at C&J almost all of us race guys use him. That guy will give you about 3 pages of math back with your carb explaining why he changed what he did. 👍👍👍👍
