The No Wake Zone / Random Rant
« on: June 05, 2013, 08:36:22 AM »
So I'm at the gas station this morning watching the tv at the pump so I don't get sick watching how much its costing me and I see a commercial about a tv show that appears to be solely based on 4 whores that are friends who are chasing sleeping with married men and stealing each others married man. What the fuk. I was completely blown away by this even though yah i know "its only tv". Maybe because I haven't had cable for the last 3 years I may have missed some shows that lead to this one becoming acceptable but who the hell watches this crap and why? Being a father of two girls that are 11years old and 6 months what am I suppose to think when and if my oldest watches this show somewhere else or when my youngest is older watches a show of the same theme? Now they are seeing a skanky demoralized whores lifestyle on tv and its being portrayed as a glamorous life style on and its acceptable. Bull sh!t. Seems like the media is making it harder and harder to raise children with positive influences when all it's doing is pushing skinny models, skanky women and other bs social influences.

We sure aren't in Mayberry anymore.

Progressive here, they asked what it was, I told them a old jet boat. She asked about the open engine compartment and all that jazz and pretty much told me no, then she asked what motor........I told her a big block olds 455 rated at 390hp and she laughed at me and said I was fine........15 bucks a month.

Hang them in the garage and forget about ever putting them on the boat.

Well it helps if the engine is tuned right, not to lean, get the water supply to the headers dead nuts on and try to keep them clean of grease, oil, and the oils from your hand when working on it. The second they get hot and any of the above or on them it will burn on and most important don't touch them when there hot.

Nut rattled off the old handle and couldn't find it in the boat for some reason so I had to buy a new one. Just being a smart ass because of all the debate lately

I will say it was a blast to get the boat out but the best part of the trip is right here at home.

Pull the interior and pressure wash all the old carpet glue out, move the seats back about 3 inches, repair the section where the bulk head came loose from the floor, new carpet, and maybe new gauges or a new alternator. Depends which of the two I's the problem. My amp meter shows no charge so we will see. Then wire the trailer and put lights on sometime I between all that and I'm sure there's more.

Couple more pictures of the boat and my brother driving. And it's Perris, got to the tire shop on Friday night and homeboy bailed on me so I wasn't able get new tires for the trailer and I wasn't towing to big river on crap tires. So we camped there Friday night and Saturday night. It sure wasn't BR but it was still a good time. Dragged the guys around on an inner tube in the morning and when it turned into a wave pool we hid behind the island and dropped anchor and kicked back. Pulled a few good size large mouth bass and swam for the rest of the day.

For a shake down it went pretty well I guess. Would of been perfect if I cleaned the carb before we left Friday.

The earlier decision was based on 8 angry orchard apple crisps, really good stuff by the way and the 103 temp. I was buzzin and pissed cause it was hot and I wasn't on the water

Well, after new plugs, wires, checking timing and vac leaks I figured it out. I red neck cleaned the carb and there it was.

Pulled an honest 55 out of it at 4k with 4 200+ guys and 20 gallons of fuel, and no diverter

I just may keep it. ;)

Wouldn't idle all the sudden, runs like shit up to 3k then all fine. Tried all the tricks I know, checked for vac leaks, oils clear and just can't figure it out.

Found one of the plugs on the ports on the carb was pretty much shot and gone but other than that I can't find anything. I have a set of plugs and socket on its way, hopefully I fouled the plugs
