Ralph,  I don't think the cav plates or hardware would be of much use for a jet.  I thought about it for the little Eliminator, but I think the only thing that could be used on a jet would be the handle and some of the shafts (if you cut them up),  and there is no down pedal just a handle.

 Seriously, there's just to many things to work on around here.  If I can get rid of all of them I'm going to look for a 19' Daytona (or similar) and put all my efforts into one thing.  Building a MONSTER !!! 
 
 

 First we have a 77ish Tahiti, needs everything, bad floor, single axle trailer.  Come get it, FREE.  No paper work on boat or trailer. Might make a nice sand box or yard art?    Gone, I cut it up.  

  

 Next we have a 77 Lancer (Tahiti splash), set up for BBF, everything is there minus motor and exhaust. Nice Autometer gauges (with senders)  This boat has a Jacuzzi YJ pump that needs to be rebuilt, it works but is loose.  Single axle trailer.  I might throw in a buildable Berk JC pump if someone wants to convert it.  $1000 or make offer.

 Next we have the Little Eliminator  .   Its turn key minus motor (I should say flick switch and push button minus motor)  It will still need some work on the set up (plate adjustments, etc)  This is a rocker bottom boat and was Busbys old Drag boat.  And yea it still needs the fenders mounted.

  Next there is the old flat bottom, its a 73 Eliminator, no HID# it was covered during the wood deck conversion. Its set up for BBC and is mostly all there, the hull is badly delaminating on the deck and stringers , so its realy just good for parts.  Make offer.  Sale on hold for now, might part it out.



 

 

 No the Daytona is not on the list, it already has a couple interested buyers.  If it doesnt work out I'll add it to the list.

I'm talking to the guy right now, it's not a daytona, it's a mod-v says it's called an edge.  He says it's only 20.5? sure looks like a daytona from the side.

    You better walk out to you garage and look at your boat again.  That thing don't look like a Daytona !! 

 

 Cables are listed as obsolete. 

 My only chance was to find a duel cable rack system that could mount the cables in opposite directions (push-pull). But I was told a hydraulic system would be way better for this thing (easier to turn). 

 I'm going to need a more complete list of what you have. 

 Did I see something about a 28" pitch prop ?  Is it a through hub ?   What others do you have ?   Got any duel cable steering systems hidden in there ?

 

The second one has a hydraulic helm attatched and is now removed, (available as a seperate purchase)..

I'm not sure if its right or necessary but here's how it was done on my Daytona.  I just put the tanks back in so I snapped a couple shots for you.

 There are grounds on the filler caps, the senders and the tanks themselves.  Not sure why it has them on the tank bodies but it does.

Speedy,  GTjets had a collection of those old Mercruiser spark arresters, he might have one like yours.   As far as making them look good / better, maybe you could fit some of those cheep chrome air cleaner lids on top of them and wrap them with those foam prefilters.    Or bolt one of the prostock style scoops to your hatch so it opens with the hatch and covers the ugly arrestors.  Just an idea. 

 Thanks John,  I was thinking about moving mine down on the pump brace too.  If it has any issues priming after moving the filters, that's where its going.  The strange thing is my old boat had its pump mounted on the back of the terminal strip on top of the bell housing and never had a problem.  Maybe its an issue with the Holley pumps, the old boat used a Carter pump.
