The  purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense.  (waiting for attack)

The sword is more important than the shield, and  skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All  else is supplemental.

1. Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is  too old to fight, he'll just kill you.

2. If you find yourself in a  fair fight, your tactics suck.

3. I carry a gun cause a cop is too  heavy.

4. When seconds count, the cops are just minutes  away.

5. A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas  Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was  carrying and asked him 'Why do you carry a 45?' The Ranger responded,  'Because they don't make a 46.'

6. The old sheriff was attending  an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his  sidearm.
'Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting  trouble?'
'No Ma'am. If I  were expecting trouble, I would have brought my rifle.'

7. Beware  the man who only has one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE  IT!!!

But wait, there's more!

I was once asked by a lady  visiting if I had a gun in the house. I said I did.
She said 'Well I  certainly hope it isn't loaded!'
To which I said, of course it is  loaded, can't work without bullets!'
She then asked, 'Are you that  afraid of some one evil coming into your house?'
My reply was, 'No not  at all. I am not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire  extinguishers around, and they are all loaded too.'
To which I'll add,  having a gun in the house that isn't loaded is like having a car in the  garage without gas in the tank.

I'm using this combo on my motor with good results. I did have to replace dizzy gear roll pin. It broke when I locked up my old motor (which is what it's supposed to do supposedly???)

That tube looks like it is maybe pressed in. Get it out of there and drill and tap it for 1/2NPT and plug it like the one next to it or put a pressure gauge there. The drill size is on the TAP itself.
T.J.
This is what I did. Worked out nice. Also whenever possible use aluminum fittings and plugs. Brass on aluminum corrodes faster.

Lower River / Re: Low river rendezvous ! Aug 16 - 17

I don't believe this bs, I got stuck at work yesterday. All I've been hearing at work is how us "scab" sergeants are stealing the real sergeant's overtime, so yesterday Sue had the boat and cooler ready to go just waiting for me to get off work and low and behold they nab me at the gate and I watch as those same senior sergeants refuse the overtime and walk out and I get stuck with it. I was soooo pissed. I can't wait to hear them talk crap again!!!

Anyway, hope all of you had a safe, fun time.
Marc, shoot me your address in a pm and I'll send that intake manifold out tuesday a.m.

just to chime in a little on this boat. Wicked, but if you can't run it regularly what is it worth. I'd rather have a POS like mine that runs everytime I turn the key than a sick looking trailer queen. Just my $.02

The No Wake Zone / Met 76 Bonneville today
« on: August 12, 2008, 09:16:05 PM »
Had to drive to San Diego (La Jolla) today for Dr. appt. and met up with Ron (76 Bonneville). Bought a set of headers from him that I will have coated for my beast. Ron is a really cool dude!!! We talked boats for a few. I can't wait to see his Rogers someday. Hope to see you out on the river sometime!!! Anyway good news on my back. The doctor says that my injury is a common one and that it will actually heal itself. He told me to keep up with what I've been doing on my own (stretching and fast walking) and I won't need injections or surgery!!! I'm totally stoked about that. I was really scared that I was going to have to go under the knife! Anyway, had a great day. Got boat parts and great news!

ps. Sorry Marc, I planned to bring that intake with me but I got half way before I realized I forgot to toss it in the trunk. So I will definitely set it next to all the boat stuff to bring out Saturday afternoon.

Sign him up for the nambla newsletter. Someone did that to a buddy of mine, needless to say he was really pissed. Growing up, had neighbor problems with lady who thought my step dad was a dope dealer cuz of his long hair and beard (turns out it was the clean cut mormans next door to her that were dealing lol). We once wrote bitch in her lawn with rock salt. Oh and accidently ran over her prize hedge with a Kenworth!!!

Was by my local jet guy's shop today to pick up some parts and he has a 240# Texas Tunnel 17' picklefork with no motor for sale. It's in pieces, still has center steering, & pump is sitting on work bench (completely freshened up). The trailer was converted to dolly trailer, but all the stock spring brackets are still there so he bought new springs and fenders for it. He's asking $5500 as is apart. I'm in love!!! God I wish I had the cash!!! He says with a 500hp motor should run around 80mph easy. With a 700hp bbc it was hitting 109 in 1/4. I'm thinking it would make a great play boat after I get Sue her pontoon. Hmmm??? get this, call LakesOnly for a 520" stroker and LuckieStiff for a bench seat. Slap it together and I'm scaring the crap out of riders!!! :screwy:

ok, back to reality  :banghead:

Lower river (Martinez Lake area) has very few big boats. I agree they belong on a lake. It can get kinda rough on a big weekend but other weekends it is really nice. I think maybe there are fewer fast boats because of the lower water level (sand bars).

If you don't hate your boat while your working on it, then your doing something right...
and that is not normal. :D

Just make sure you have extra tools to throw and the kids are wearing ear plugs.

I pay my son a quarter everytime I curse. I think he made $50 when I put my new intake on lol.  :sly:
