That tube looks like it is maybe pressed in. Get it out of there and drill and tap it for 1/2NPT and plug it like the one next to it or put a pressure gauge there. The drill size is on the TAP itself.This is what I did. Worked out nice. Also whenever possible use aluminum fittings and plugs. Brass on aluminum corrodes faster.

If you don't hate your boat while your working on it, then your doing something right...I pay my son a quarter everytime I curse. I think he made $50 when I put my new intake on lol.
and that is not normal.
Just make sure you have extra tools to throw and the kids are wearing ear plugs.
