Count the turns from fully closed to open and then close it half way, go off 1/4 turn increments till you dial it in, I set mine up to run about 100-130 when running around and when I'm idling it gets up to 160-180

Yah finally, almost ruined the whole thing though, the rope on the pump snapped half way through the rotation, luckily I had a safety chain and it caught it. Was a pucker moment for sure

Whats Cookin? / Re: Ribs
« on: May 24, 2013, 11:41:29 PM »
Man your guys recipes sound great and all but not my thing.

Heres how i do it,

First I grab a beer, this is very very important. Pound it and possibly a few others and wait for alcohol to take affect. Generally about a half hour.

Second, this is also very very important. I yell........." Woman I want some ribs" which I generally followed by an "ok babe"

Third, which is the most important step of all, I lay out in bed and fall asleep, and when I wake up poof they are ready.

Never let off the throttle

Edit:

It has to do with the cam, if your cam specs are pretty close to stock you shouldn't have a problem but the man to ask would be glenn or "gt jets" here on the board

Edit: and he beat me before I posted my first edit

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Carb question
« on: May 22, 2013, 11:52:16 AM »
An old timer showed me a trick that might help you, may want to wear some safety glasses or just be careful not to get anything into your eyes. spray some carb cleaner into the over flow tubes on both bowels using the straw for a good 5 seconds, then fill the bowels with gas through the over flows until full. Pump the pedal a few times to see if any thing is squirting. If not dump some gas down the carb have someone bump the key to fire it up, soon as it fires bump the throttle to bring the rpms up and use a towel to choke the carb. It should suck fuel right through the jets.
