My junkyard motor did pretty much the same thing without the block window. The bore was ruined though from the rod smacking around. So got a good deal on a long block from a local builder. I'm really nervous about running stocker rods & pistons lol. I never spin more than 4800 anyway because of my impellor cut. Need to turn it into a stroker. I've been talking to LakesOnly about it. And then eventually bolting on a blower!!! Yeah Baby!!! ;D

Got to be somebody out there lookin to upgrade to a new set or swapping some zoomies or some other thing. I just don't want to buy a new set and then have to coat them. I may end up just having mine coated.

Nothing compares to being a Dad!!!

Got a cool story to tell about it, one night when my son was about 3 or 4 I hear him get up the bathroom light comes on and I hear him take a leak. Flush, light out, couple of steps.... he says Dad, I can't find my room!. Without missing a beat I yell back "try where you left it" he says ok. I get a SAM! and an elbow to the ribs from my ex. But I hear him climb back into bed and all is well lol. Then there was the time when I was changing his diaper and his butt blew up on me... but that's another story!

yep, saw the flatty. speaking of flatty's, there is a really nice one that comes out Sunday afternoons. He cruises by at like 60-70 and sounds like its idling lol. it has a chromed fiberglass scoop on it and really sweet paint job. anyway, one of these days I'll make it down to where you park have a beer or two with you.

Our prayers for the families of the 19 & 14 year olds. As we sat on the sandbar Sunday, we watched (with much satisfaction) the Sheriff's patrol pull over several pwcs for jumping wakes. But unfortunately they missed the dumb jet boat operator (with a rooster) who dang near ran a pwc over while passing the pwc and a pontoon boat. The pwc never saw it coming and the rooster knocked him off. Now I hate lake lice as much as the other guy when they are in the wrong, but I also feel sorry for them when they are obeying the rules and get jacked up by one of us doing something wrong!!!

Had a blast Sunday. My son got to go tubing for the first time. Got some cool pics of that, plus a buddy from work showed up with his boat so I got to go tubing too. Had to take it real slow because of the back, but it was nice to get wet. I think I saw Marc leaving as we were going past YPG. Do you have a Ford truck? Anyway, I can't wait for the lower river get together!!!

I moved to Yuma (miss out on the worst of the monsoon weather, only catch the edges of it) from Hel...I mean El Centro Cali so the weather didn't change that much. Yuma gets a better breeze in the late afternoons that e.c. doesn't get. Anyway, I'm never going back to cali. Here are few of the big advantages to living in AZ.

1 you can go get a concealed carry firearm permit and with that you do NOT have a waiting period to purchase any guns. To included silencers and full automatic weapons!!!

2 in PHX, you will be close to Sedona. That place is really beautiful, especially in the winter. A lot of artsy fartsy stuff there too. But great places to camp and a lot of cool native indian caves and such to check out.

3 You'll be closer to the river than you are now. Parker and the lower river are only about 3 hours drive.

4 the 4 months of wicked hot summer are outweighed by the super nice winter weather!!!

5 no smog checks in most smaller counties.

6 housing is cheaper than Cali.

7 gasoline is cheaper than Cali

8 driver's license good for 25 years at a time!!!

The negatives;

1 hotter than hell in the summer (I joke that this is where they send you when you misbehave in hell)

2 snowbirds in the winter (leave a half hour early to allow for snowbird traffic) They tend to drive side by side 35mph in their diesel trucks in 55mph zones lol.

3 state income tax a little higher than Cali. Not really bad, but there is a difference.

4 distance from family (my Dad lives in Hemet Cali, Mom lives in Oregon)

If you have any questions give me a pm or call.

Lower River / Water was nice today
« on: June 29, 2008, 04:52:14 PM »
Hit the river today from Fisher's. Boat ran good, water was high. We got out there about noon. Then we headed in about 3 with a little detour on Ferguson to open her up. Shut down water injection when we stopped on Ferguson and forgot to turn it back on when we went back to Fishers. Melted part of my folding table, a bag of trash, and the boom box really got warped beyond repair  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:. I feel like a dumbazz!!! Time to get a banderlog!!!

Hi Brad and Bob
good luck to you both.
i know that this is going to sound crazy as hell but one way to help you lose weight is to eat between 5-6 meal a day. now not got to McD`s or such but good smaller meals. eat breakfast, small snack around 9, lunch around 12, small snack at 2-3, dinner around 5-6 and maybe a small snack around8-9.
now i`m talking good meals and good snacks. for the snacks you could do either a smoothie or a protein bar, of course fruit or veggies is good also. and for lunch and dinner something good like chicken or fish or salad.
also working out will help. eating like that will actually help to speed up your metabolism. which in turn burns more fat.
just throwing in my .02
good luck guys.
This is no bs, several officers at work have tried this and lost weight big time without exercising. I want to try this, but just don't have the opportunity at work (I know bs excuse) I'm too busy during my shift. I'm lucky just to get a lunch break. I've lost weight though just by decreasing my portions. I was 295 at the dr two weeks ago and stepped on scale this am and weighed 286.0 so I'm going the right direction. Good luck guys!!!

The No Wake Zone / Re: gas prices
« on: June 25, 2008, 03:45:51 PM »
I don't see the govt temporarily reducing the $.50+ in fuel taxes they charge us for each gallon of fuel. If we were able to start getting oil from our own resources, it would drive the price of foreign oil down to acceptable levels. Don't get me started on the "tree huggers", they got half the dunes closed for some stupid weed. Now the weed is dying because there are no duners helping spread it around lol. I also saw a pic of tire tracks in the dunes with a caption that says it will take hundreds of years for the tracks to go away. Yeah okay, anyone who has seen the dunes in a sand storm knows those tracks are gone in 30 minutes!!! They really piss me off.
