 The dash is aluminum, I had to replace the wood behind the dash (it was cut to be a center steer boat), so, I needed to cover up the body work and didn't want to try to match the paint.  ;)

 The tach housing came from Tom at Jet Boat Performance ( http://www.jetboatperformance.com/index.php?p=main ). There still available new (as well as smaller ones for the other gauges) and not to expensive.  ;D

 Thanks for the diagram GT, but I just rearranged the power wires, so both switches are fed through the kill switch.  I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible (caveman technology).  ;D

 All the wiring is done, only the carbs and some misc left to do.  ;D ;D

 But I have a question, I wired my kill switch to kill the ignition. And after I was done I thought about the fuel pump (separate switch).  Should the kill switch shut off the fuel pump too??

 Switches, 1 = ign, 2 = fuel pump, 3 = bilge pump, starter button.


 Dash, looks empty with no switches or ign switch.  ;D

 After you find out if this hull has rocker or not, call Tom at Jet Boat Performance (805-466-4719).  He recently did battle with a rocker bottom boat and if I remember right the droop made things worse. He might have a better idea for you.  Or try calling Jim Brock (818-890-1867), it seams like he already knows this type of boat (post #4).  So, he may have a solution for you too. 

 PS, dont feel bad I'm going to be going through this same battle soon.  :-\

 Wow, that video didn't look fun.  dm2bfree, check the bottom of that boat !  If it has a lot of rocker like Jim Brock said that will cause it to ride bow high (like in the vid) and slam down over every wake. And possibly porpoise even on smooth water without plates. 

 Rocker = an upward curve of the bottom towards the transom, like the bottom of a rocking chair.
 Hook = a downward curve.

 If it has rocker, a droop may not be a good thing.  I was told not to run one on my boat (a rocker bottom) unless it was going to be a drag race only boat (smooth water only).   

 This is just my uneducated opinion, but I dought that Jim is wrong.  ;)

Well I got back to work on it again.

 Water lines = done
 Fuel pump / reg = done
 Fuel lines = done
 Throttle pedal mounted = done
 Used headers ( out of the infamous Jet Boat Performance rafters ) = almost done, there cleaning up better than I thought they would Tom.  ;D
 
 I got rid of the Tstat housing looking thing (ugly) and made a flat plate. also moved one of the dump lines to the drivers side of the motor (looks better / more even).  Made a bracket to mount the fuel press reg (driver side of T/ram). Fuel lines go back from the reg and through the center of the T/ram into the dist block Billy/Ironman made me.
 
 

 Here's the bracket Billy made me for the old throttle pedal.
 

 Fuel pump. I cant believe it bolted up there and the brackets holes lined up perfect with two of the bolts for the transom plates ( It was all planned that way of course  ::))  ;D
 

 Now just wiring and rebuild the carbs. I'm NOT looking forward to doing the carbs, I hate them and they hate me !!  Every time I touch carbs they dribble fuel from somewhere when I'm done.  :banghead: :banghead:

 Its all bolted together, and the water/fuel lines are done now,  just needs wiring and carbs rebuilt.  ;D  Did I mention I hate carbs, and they hate me !!!

According to Greg Shoemaker, the true "Sprint" was an 18 foot bubble beck bottom (stretched one foot) with a Beismeyer deck.  I realy like that Beismeyer deck, SEXY !!!!  ;D

 I have both also and I haven't looked at the flanges, etc yet, but I will say that my Rewarders have lasted a long time and are still in excellent shape.  Only changed to the Bassetts because my Rewardes are twistys and to close to the gunnels.

Here's a better pic of what Toms talking about, you can see the dipstick tube as it passes through the timing cover (just above the water passage), a water leak there can give you milkshake oil. But if yours dosnt have the tube there dont wory about it.  ;)

 Nope, no need for the factory plate. But make sure you use the correct gasket (if you use one) when putting the water pump block off plate on, use the gasket that goes between the factory plate and the timing cover. Not the gasket that goes between the WP and the factory plate. 

 I think I'm right about the gaskets , maybe someone else can confirm.  I do remember that one of them seals all the way around the water passages (correct) and the other one is just the outer edge (wrong).  :-\

   805-466-4719.  That's the number to Jet Boat Performance. You will call it ALOT (we all do  ;)), so save it in your phone  ;D. Tom has his rafters stuffed with cool old used parts and can find just about anything you want new.  Also keep an eye on the classified section here and on the other sites, those scoops come up for sale fairly often.
