Cars / Automobiles For Sale / 03 Buell B9XS Lightning $5000
« on: June 23, 2008, 05:25:48 PM »
Helping a buddy get rid of this so he can get a jet boat. He owes $5000 on it, so sorry no trades.

It's a 2003 Buell Lightning B9XS with a Buell Race Kit on it (never raced) with both the touring (two seater) and the sport (single seat) seats. It only has about 7500 miles on it. $5000 obo.

Any questions, Contact Ray at 928-581-4566. He is supposed to email some pics to me later which I will post when I get them.

WTB / Re: Carb scoop

That's pretty clean looking. I like the Oval better than rectangular one. But it would look better under a hood or engine cover than out in the open. I eventually want to get a glass scoop. But mine looks pretty good for now.

My back has been getting better so we hit the river today. Found a sandbar and kicked it. Water was either high or the sandbars were low lol. Anyway, had a great time. Can't wait for August now!!!

If the back keeps going the way it is and the boat interior is done by then, I wanna go to Martinez. I'm trying to talk Sue into hitting Martinez this Saturday.

Not to sound like a weird al video but, you guys aint fat! I'm 285 at 6'. I need to get back down to 225. I think the weight is a factor in why I've been having so many probs with my back!!! I too have a soft spot for the dr. But I can't drink too much soda down here in the heat lol. I think my biggest prob is with portions (and the occasional donut, mmmmm donut in my best homer simpson). Don't know about the wager part, but I'm down with losing weight.

The upholstery guy doesn't even have a computer lol. You could email them to me and I can run down there and get a rough quote for you. As far as the painter, his work is running all over town. He did my girlfriend Sue's golf cart.

ok shitheads, I just got off the phone with the wife and she's up for this trip, I need a place to stay, any hotel/motel nearby that y'all can recommend?
I've stayed at the Microtel which is right off the I 8 and Fortuna (exit for the river). There is a pretty kick azz bar there named Crazy Earls. They have Karaoke Friday and Saturday nights!!! I will try to post the info tomorrow.

At martinez there is a lake that is off the river , for the low river get togeather in august we were talking about gps'n off a quarter mile and running some drags of our own! In my group of friends there is some serious shit talking going on about who is faster than who , so it is time we found out for sure.
Are you talking about Ferguson?

Interior / Re: New Upholstery
« on: June 17, 2008, 09:49:41 AM »
I've seen his work. He was recommended by both the boat shop and another customizer I talked to. Also got an estimate from the customizer to do paint yesterday. He will sand it, smooth out the deck, paint the bottom half white and the top half black with blue "real" flames for $1500. Oh yeah, included blasting trailer and spraying it white. I've been have some good luck finding deals lately!!  O0

Interior / New Upholstery
« on: June 16, 2008, 05:03:56 PM »
Well after changing my mind six or seven times on how I would do my interior, Sue convinced me to go back to stock interior. I really wanted to do go with fiberglass benchs, but you know how persuasive a woman can be lol. Anyway went around and got estimates from $2500-$3000. Then finally went to the guy the boat shop recommended (went to him last because he was out to lunch when I stopped by). He looks it over and all the wood that has to be replaced....... then says $850. I said I'd drop it off on Monday!!!

Hulls / Re: What Kinda of boat is this???
« on: June 15, 2008, 07:36:28 PM »
I wonder if you epoxy coated them inside if that would help?
Probably would have helped, but they didn't have coatings (at least that we knew of) back then.

Growing up, we had a 1978 28' Hawaian daycruiser with a 454/Berk combo and we used to take it to Catalina Island all the time. Man that thing ate fuel lol. Anyway, do watch the exhaust logs. Salt water tears them up inside. Had to replace ours twice in the 4 or so years we had the boat. Good Luck!!!
