Interior / Re: new floors for '77 Sanger
« on: February 28, 2012, 12:04:28 PM »
Ok, I'm gonna pull the pump this weekend and see what needs to be done to fix this right.  I'm a little irritated because the floor has already been replaced once and it obviously wasen't done right. I'm a little scared to see what the transom really looks like once i get the pump out.  Truth is I've got a lot of work to do on this boat to get it restored and i'm gonna do it right.  For right now though I'm only concerned with getting the boat solid again, getting the floors fixed, the transom fixed, any leaks fixed etc.  The only issues i've had with the motor is the starter took a shit on me, while I was floating down to pirates cove and thats not even the worse part.  We ran out of beer an hour before we got a tow to topock.  Once I get the boat solid and mechanically sound then I'll start working on making it pretty again.  I'll put some pics up that I have now, and when I get back home I'll take some more to show the progress.  Thanks again you guys for the help.  I'm sure I'll have plenty of more questions for you as I go along.

I was planning on using resin on the bottom and glass on top also.  I bought 2.0 oz chopped strand mat, think that will be strong enough?  Also my transom is leaking around the pump, should I put some new glass there also?  Thanks for the help

Interior / new floors for '77 Sanger
« on: February 25, 2012, 03:57:10 PM »
I am replacing the floors in my '77 Sanger and i need a little help. When I removed the existing floor i had to remove the foam that was under it as well due to water damage and now I don't know what type of support to use under the new floor. The is not any suppot in the middle of the floor, only one stringer on each side. I was thinking of adding some cross members across the stringers but i was told that was not a good idea because it may not allow the boat to flex when it needs to. Any help is appreciated. Thank you
