Although a little more complicated to mock up than 3 or 4 pt the rail kit is the hands down winner for clean install IMO not sure what you mean by adding or not taking away material ? though

By extra material I meant extra material on the plates, ie, not trimming them so much, leaving room for mounting things.

Thats a clean install. I have something similar(I think its a lightning rail kit now for BBC). Im looking to add some material(or-not cut so much away) so I can have a place to pass water lines through, mount misc. stuff etc. Just looking for some ideas...

Used hardened shaft in good shape. New Koyo Bearing. New shaft with bearing cost me $500, would like $275 out of this one. I was running this and thought it was stock so replaced with a new AQ from MPD. Come to find out this one was magnetic(hardened). My loss, your gain. Buyer pays shipping. Shaft is in Socal. Can make local deliveries free of charge on OC/San Diego areas...

How are the power valves? I assume its a double pumper...? Make any changes right before this started happening?

Boat loves chop, if you have the cahones to keep your foot in it. The keel on this thing is about an inch thick, so its ready to take a beating. As far as turning circles, check out the Hurry Round Hondo boat from years past. This is that boat less the t-deck, its one of the more popular hulls for circle racing, atleast historically. Im sure others will argue a liberty is a better hull, probably is, but this hull has a pedigree of its own that is not too shabby. If I was going to race circles, Id go with the stacked tanks, and any of the other necessary hardware.

Just for clarification this boat is capable of a hundred safely the way it sits. Turned an MPD B 5700...do the math. To help it go faster it does have the cav plate recesses from the mold available for installation of the plates. This particcular boat came with aluminum blanks installed in the recesses however. This hull is capable of the 110 -112 area. I wouldn't try going any faster than that(actually I wouldn't try over 100, its fast enough)

I think the boat is really nice, but I think I am a little biased. Maybe not the nicest, but one of the cleanest. Boat was built with one thing in mind, hauling ass, thats it. Whoever buys it will get a nice boat that doesn't need a lot of work to be on the water.

And for whoever asked, this boat did have a delta pad. Was removed in the interest of speed and pump loading.

Send it to Jack. My dad just did and it cost $350 for the machine work, shoe, cradle & ride plate. If you look at jacks shoe and compare to anyone elses, you will know why he charges what he does. They are a work of art and are worth the money IMO.

Boost the WJ is a good pump, with the Energizer on there you get rid of the biggest problem with a jacuzzi-the bowl. The impeller is next and they can be made to work real well. My WJ pushed my last boat into the mid 90's first time out with no setup, same as a berk has done in similar boats. No doubt in my mind that the boat would have done 100 with a little tweaking and some cleaner water(super choppy out-couldn't stay in it too long). Unfortunately after the first time out my wife shook her head at me and told me we needed a bigger boat.

Get your impeller detailed by Jack @ MPD and add the shoe & ride plate. A bowl detailing will help to, but I would do that after the shoe-ride plate and impeller. You wouldn't notice any difference with the berk IMO.

Hit it with a buffing wheel and some polishing compound. Those things will come right back.
