« on: September 02, 2015, 02:51:07 PM »
Hey I am selling my Challenger. My grandpa bought this boat bran new in 73 so I hate to get rid of it, but would like to see it go to a good home.

I put a brand new motor in it last summer. Its only been out twice with the new motor. It has

468 Chevy
Jaccuzi Jet
Interior is in great shape
Basset Headers

Other than that I do not much info on the motor. Give me a call if you interested. 661-644-6449

$4,000.

its nothing fancy by any means....its somewhere to lay your head at the end of the night...thats it.

BUT....its sold out and there is a waiting list. Call and get on it if youre serious....ya never know. If not, theres plenty of places in parker.

I called and left a voice mail. I am waiting for a call back. Would for sure like to take part in this trip. Have you every rented any of the park trailers? Thinking about renting one of those.

Procomp Electronics has a very high rejection rate - hence the price. I went through 2 of them before I got a "good" one, and I'm still looking for a GOOD HEI distributor. I'm glad I tried their relatively cheap distributor before I plunked down money for a set of their SBC aluminum cylinder heads. I wouldn't be able to afford to send those back twice, nor would tearing down the engine to do so be fun.
Moral of this story: You get what you pay for! Try Summit or Jegs and even the least expensive one you'll find will be a far better part than the one you have now.

Thanks for the Help guess i will just sack up and try another one.

Oh, I got a pair of their $50 fabricated aluminum valve covers....lots of scratches and stuff, didn't want to send them back so I painted blue clearcoat on them to perk them up. Do they look ok? (Attachment Link)

Hell ya those things look sick. I will give you $55 for them haha

Is it 3 wire?
Umm i might need some help on this one. I believe it is a 2 wire. All i hook up is a Tak and power

how did you hook it up????  what distributor were you running before????? check and make sure you have 12 volts on cranking as well as on the on position. and last but not least those distributors have a little brain thing (sorry forgot what there called) maybe bad i dont think so but could be.  90 % of the time its how they are hooked up.    Good luck!
This is a bran new motor it was my grandpas boat and there has not been a motor in it in 7 years i am re doing most of it. I have not checked to see if i have 12 volts when it is cranking but i know it has 12 when the key goes to the on position. i am almost ready to just try another new HEI.

Oh no here we go again.
start here:
http://www.jetboatperformance.biz/pages/FAQ.html

and do a search here tons of info.

I actually found that before i posted this. My grandpa had it set up completly diffrent thats what made me question things. He had it where both the bassets hooked came out of the Thermostat. One inlets on the block was hooked up to water off the JET and the other side of the block was a DUMP out the back. So i was just confused on why he had it like this. Could very well be he had it incorrect but i do remember the boat running.

Hey everyone i am new to the Forum. I am rebuilding my grandpas 1973 Challenger. He was the Origional owner of it. He took the motor out like 10 years ago and now i am finally rebuilding it. I have fully rebuild motor and was wondering how to Plumb the water system. I know there is one inlet off the Jet that would give the boat water. I also have a dump that goes out the back of the boat. I am running Bassets. Does anyone have a Diagram on how to hook this up. The way he had it i do not think is correct by looking at pictures. If anyone could help me out i would appreciate it THANK YOU!!!
