I am looking for boat cover for my 20' pioneer I am talking it out to the river this weekend for the summer and I don't think one will get here in time if I order one. It will be stored in doors. Let me know what you have and how much $$$. I am located in Anaheim so hopefully local.
Thanks

Hulls / Re: Pioneer 20

It seems to run good. I took it to Elsinore last weekend. It hadn't been used in a couple years. I changed the fluids put new batteries in it and ran it. Is there anything else I should do to it before I leave it in Laughlin for the summer. There was no signs of leaks and the hoses feel good. It has been stored in doors all of it life.

Audio / Re: iPod to Amp hook up
« on: May 11, 2013, 10:36:20 PM »
When you hook the iPod directly to the amp you need to use a line driver. It is a preamp between the iPod and amp otherwise the iPod has to be turned all the way up and will not be loud. You can order them from best buy

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Wiring melted on engine

I was thinking the same thing. I could not find one fuse on the boat when I repair the wiring I am going to add some resettable circuit breakers

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Wiring melted on engine
« on: May 07, 2013, 07:20:15 PM »
Please excuse my neebie question. I just bought a 1979 pioneer 20 with a 460 harman engine I took it out for a test run on Saturday to Elsinore  after about an hour of running the boat it died. So I opened the engine cover to check it out and found the split loom and wires had melted on the choke block off plate of the intake manifold.
No signs of the wires shorting out causing them to melt since it only melted in one spot. It is just weird to me that a boat that old is just having this problem. It's not a big deal to fix the wires and build a a stand off to hold the wires off of the intake manifold. I guess my question is is there anything else I should look for that could of caused this as you see many engine with the harness running next to the intake manifold/valve cove.
Oh yea the engine temp was 160 so I can't blame it on that
Thanks
