Saturday racing is complete. CJ460 & CJ20 did not show, but Christian Munk did show - with plates on his Anthony.
Comp Jet was one of the bigger classes. Six Boats in the class and Shirl Dickey, CJ60, kicked ass in both heats.
Ron Lund's boy in CJ511 was a very fast rookie and claims to be totally hooked.
Beautiful weather for racing. Looking for more of same on Sunday.

What great weekend  ...Nice catching up with all you in the pits and around the bouys, I was hoping to bring a little more to the show than I did  :-\  My little FORD FE 390cid held together and did what she could considering she was all done by 3,500 rpm ;D  She managed to keep from getting passed by any BOWTIES  ^-^
My goal was really to get Brown Sugar out doing laps and a little much needed seat time with her new plate set up.  Sitting out for the Sunday races was cool,  hung out, cruise the pits and was able to chat with Jack a bit and watch the show which was pretty dam exciting  . All I can say is Brown Sugar will be back for Long Beach with a whole lotta FOOORD POWER  ;)

Not sure if I'd call it back pedaling .....but it was pretty cool blasting around LB course with Ralph ...To bad the river racer class has'nt gained more support... :-\
You can't possibly have more fun with your jet ...
Now I'll have to run my lil ford fe 390 motor with the Faster CJ boys :screwy:.. i'm sure it will be fun either way ....maybe I'll out last a few and end with a respectable finish...lol ^-^

Raced her (Brown Sugar #2813) in River Racer class last yr at the Long Beach circle races

I'm planning to race CJ at LB in Aug. I'll be some what under powered but who cares should be fun just mixing it up with the CJ regulars.

I'm sure the class will be gaining popularity and bigger boat counts in the near future.
Hope to see old and new faces in the near future.  O0

Glad to see all that hard work paid off for you Ralph. Your Liberty looked good out there.

Christian has got to be pretty excited. A good result in your first time out has a way of getting you hooked.....

Jack

I'm still buzzing with excitement from the races .....  what an awesome bunch of dudes!!
Looking back brings out the biggest smile ..... from my own funny episode of driving down the freeway from San Francisco with 3 foot flames burning my gear in the back of my truck, discovering 3 quarts of water in my oil on thursday two days prior to race weekend  :o....can't forget getting double roosted by Ralph and Bll going into the first turn and then scrambling across Brown Sugar's bow to save her from beaching on the rocks  ;D

Having a laugh about the crazy struggles and nerve wrecking episodes is what makes this stuff so fun  :screwy:
Looking forward to more racing and good times.

P.S.  To all you guys on the sideline mulling the notion around about whether you should race or not .....DO IT !!!!! :thumb up:
It will be the most fun you'll ever have with your jet trust me.  Plus we need some Bowties in our class to tease

Ralph, Glenn (gt jets)  Terry, Mark, Jr, Randy and the whole crew ....thanks for all the support ....I'll be seeing you guys again real soon.

Gt Jets.... I'm definitely in bud, this has been a long time in the making.
Really looking forward to meeting up with the Socal jet Boat crew. Love the
welcoming spirit that everyone has with one another.

My jet "Brown Sugar" is just about ready to throw her roost and make some noise.
This is going to be  such an awesome experience.http://www.socaljetboats.com/Smileys/default/afro.gif

Hello Brian
Ur boat is bitching.....I'm looking for a jet to go circle racing with, how would this boat perform as a circle racer?? Particularly how well would it take to rough water  conditions and also how well would the boat negociate turns, it obviously has the goods to go fast and straight.
