We too are looking for upholstery work and suggestions.  Wood and foam should be fine with no configuration changes other than some upgrades for cup holders in the open bow area and perhaps replacing pockets with cubbies. 

1990 Commander Open Bow configuration - I'd love to see some modern upholstery work.  Seems the better prepared you are with what you want and showing examples seems to be key.  Seriously considering getting rid of tuck & roll look and reduction of colors to three.

Fellow Commander, Ultra, other similar boats with fresh upholstery?  Share in your success and/or horror.    The search feature landed me on this thread.
