I'd love to walk that lake when its emptied. The amount of history left on the bottom of that lake can't be denied.
I personally do not like stainless steel hardware in iron, unless it is of a high quality and grade.
I will either use Cadium plated grade 8 (which is getting harder to find) or black oxide grade 8.
As for the length, it really depends on what you are bolting through.
The rule of thumb is 1-1/4 times the bolt diameter into the threads. And a minimum of the threads showing out of a nut if through bolted.
I use blue Loktite like it's free, not necessarily to lock the threads, but it seals then up and keeps them from rusting.

The oil pressure switch is a USCG requirement to kill the electric fuel pump if the engine dies. It has absolutely nothing to do with protecting the engine. This is especially true on a closed engine deal.
What if the engine died because of a broken fuel line as an example? If it was on a mechanical pump motor, the fuel stops when the engine does. No true on an electric, it can keep going until the tanks are empty creating the largest Mollotov Coctail you have ever laid eyes on.
Just a thought the other way.

pretty much like 80% of the worlds batteries are made by johnson controls and then branded accordingly. to say one is better quality wise than another is pointless. most of the time if you use it for its intended use, it'll last. i currently have 2 yellow tops in my navigator, and i have marine duralast/autozone's in my boat. When (not if) something were to go wrong with the boat batteries its super easy to roll to an autozone and swap out their brand with a brand new one covered by warranty and I wont be screwed a weekend of boating.
Not only the builder but also how much do you want to spend bang for the buck and the chevy wins hands down
