I'm looking for a grate (preferably race) for a Dominator jet drive.  Any sellers or advice would be appreciated.

Do you have a link for the machine shop?  We are going to have to rebuild our 460 after this season. I thought it would be smart to rebuild one and have it as a spare.  The one in the boat now has several seasons on it.

Looks like a great hull and a great idea.  The boat that currently peaks my interest most is the 21' Cheetah Shadow.  It seems to have a little of everything going for it at a reasonable price. Performance (not real strong) Jet drive, and room for the fam.  Missing the over transom headers, but with little yard monkeys it's probably for the best.  The biggest problem I have found looking for this type of boat it there aren't that many too be had.  It seems like the market could use some competition as well as some inventory.  I would think if one were to keep it simple in terms of options (interior,  pant schemes, motors etc, one could do well selling.  A prototype making some appearances at some choice boating venues might be all you need to get the orders rolling in.   After I read this back it sounds like an f'n infomercial...sorry

We ran into this problem when we first got a 454.  Water in the oil led to throwing a main.  We rebuilt it, and had the same problem with water blow-by, minus seizing the motor this time.  We retooled with a 396 b/o 402 with much tighter clearances.  I really think this a tried and proven theory and a big mistake made by a lot of people using automotive specs in marine applications.

I'm not sure if it was right or not, but we rebuilt all the frames on or 19' Tahiti 15 years ago just like you are doing now.  We were going to resin the entire frames and glass the joints.  A marine upholsterer told us to treat the wood with linseed oil or Thompson's water seal and drill the holes as has already been suggested.  Because the marine grade plywood was over the top even 15 years ago, we used the same size plywood you are using and slathered the hell out of them in linseed oil (5 or 6 coats). We also used stainless wood screws (not cheap either)  The upholsterer said it allowed the wood to breathe and flex while it repelled water.  Given the amount of wear and tear boat seats take, his experience taught him the wood would fracture and break down if glassed. We did use marine grade foam and naugahyde for the remainder We sold the boat a five years after we did this rebuild, so I'm not sure how they have stood the test of time. 

I would think if they could do this in Canada we could figure out how to put one in a better looking hull/interior with some SoCal style ie:more chrome, beer holders...and a topless chick riding shotgun. 

Roosevelt, the first on the Salt River chain isn't bad either.  I like Canyon cuz it's never that crowded and you can always find glass up river.  Great pics of Saguaro!  Is the level down much?

What are you using to take it down with, vibrating/belt sander?  We replaced some wood in a Kachina and I remember it being tough to get it to the hair stage.

Every year I get older the speed in the story get a little faster...ha ha.  Thanks for breakin' my balls
