I appreciate the comments and advice after thinking about it all day I think it is best to keep it the way it is.  I'll just put an aluminum prop on so if I do hit it's a better chance of not wrecking the lower unit.  It can get pretty shallow around my place on the lower river (Shaggytree).  I look forward to seeing all your good looking boats in a few weeks at the sand bar above aha quin for the regatta.
