It certainly is. I have it here by my house now. We put it on the lake two weeks ago. Had to put a new 1000 amp battery in it but other than that it ran like a champ. Let me know if you need info or pictures.

Cloth or leather interior and condition? Don't know any one with the V10-what kind of mileage? (I had the 8.1 Chev and it was consistently horrible but would pull whatever the hell I wanted).
Check out the Gemini add a few below to see if it is the ballpark of what you are looking for.

If anyone is interested I just uploaded a video to youtube of the motor starting and running out of the water. A quick panorama showing the motor and pump. Search for it under Dave Teem 1989 Gemini.

Here are a couple of other items I don't think I mentioned: battery cut off, water separator on fuel lines, larger fuel filter, ski pole, flag, rope, zip up Pfd, basic style pfd, float cushion. The stereo does not work. (never has since I got it.)

Will spf30 protect from torrential downpours? Rain here has been sideways with several inches in last few days and 60+mph wind. Ohhh how I would like to be somewhere that I needed sunblock!

Not going to chance pulling with the Element. Maybe across town but not over Hwy 20, about 65 miles of twists and some decent hills. Maybe by the time his truck gets freed up the torrential downpours will have stopped anyway. It is all nice and detailed up so not looking forward to rain and muddy roadspray. If all else fails I will do as suggested and rent a uhaul pickup although that could get a little expensive round trip.

WAG works for me. Thanks guys. Guees I am going to have to wait for my son's truck. The Element has a 1500# max and I would have pushed it to 2k but not more. Was looking forward to how red boat might look behind the red Element....

The No Wake Zone / Boat/Trailer weight
« on: December 09, 2014, 09:56:07 PM »
Boat and trailer have been at a consignment lot for a while now. but have to bring it home asap. I took it there with my 1/2 ton truck but have since sold the truck and am driving a 05 Element. In trying to identify a rig to bring it back I want to make sure not to overload the rig so...Anyone have a close idea what a 1989 21' Gemini jet boat, big block on a double axle Hallett trailer might weigh? I had it over the scales right after I bought it but cannot recall the weight. Thanks in advance.

Have not used a gps to check speed. The speedo goes up to 50? if I recall and had it buried more than once. Was neck and neck with a bigger boat and he said he was over 63 when we crept past him. I shut it down because the wind chop on Devils Lake was getting a bit dicey.

Sorry for not checking this sooner blowthru6, we had family in town for the month and things got hectic. Pump is a Berkeley and it does have a diverter, no droop.
Things I did not mention: Bilge pump (also a brand new spare) fresh water hose connection, dual battery, tow pole. I would like to sell this boat as it is a shame for it to not be used. Will consider trades or if someone knows of a dealer in so cal that would be interested in consignment I would really appreciate hearing. I can also be emailed at daveteem@charter.net.

Thanks, it really is a sweet ride. We hate to get rid of it but just not as many places to use it like it should be used.

Want to sell  our 20.5 Gemini. Good condition, 454 runs out well with only about 60 hours on it. Mild cam and through transom exhaust sounds great. All life jackets and accessories included. I bought it in So Cal and brought it to Oregon where it has been in garage storage when not used. Only put about 15 hours on it after a complete tune up. Double axle Hallet trailer with new tires, new wheels, new surge brake and new folding tongue (installed three years ago but less than 250 miles). Just detailed and ready to go. $5000.00 OBO. Boat is in Oregon but I am motivated to sell.

Cover your ass when you vacate. Take copious photographs with date stamp and have some one walk through with you so any accusations of theft or damage can be mitigated. I would do a back to front walk through once I had my stuff out, taking pics of every room from every angle. Digital is cheap insurance and your pictures will prevail over her screeching. Just a thought.

Ditto on stay away from the lags. The guy before me used them and pressure treat but the wood is torn up, the bolts have pulled through and the bunks are coming off. I plan to counter sink and through bolt. Do it once.

The No Wake Zone / Re: CALIFORNIA...."A FAILED STATE"

Oregon. Hmmm lets see, rain in half the state with wind, mist, and drizzle 10 months a year. Snow in the winter and heat the other part of the year, but at least 300 days sun. Bend has 12+ unemployment with every fourth house forclosed. The coast unemployement is nearly as high as Bend, cost of living very high in comparison to income potential, no state tax but property tax is high and they are looking for more ways to raise money. School systems suck in most districts. I got an idea! If all of the southern Californians would move up here, vacating that part of the world, maybe someone would buy my house for more than it is worth and I could move to San Diego or somewhere I could use my boat for more than five days a year, could ride my mountain bike in the sun without a rain jacket. Oregon is a beautiful place to live, if you can afford it. It is just getting harder to make a living as keep working so hard to screw up the economy. Oh yeah, ya gotta be ultra liberal, willing to hug every tree, avoid every owl etc.

The No Wake Zone / Re: Coolest car you ever owned....
« on: November 07, 2010, 05:00:47 PM »
First car and still one of my favorites: 64 Falcon, 160 cu and three on the tree
Had a bunch of others but most fun was the 76 Datsun 710, lowered suspension kit and header, with side draft carb setup.
73 Vega
70 Satellite, built 383 and freaking scary fast
77 Mustang 2, an orange sleeper with a 302 and chrome leg pipes
84 Lincoln Mark 7-for the cool factor
Now driving a 05 Avalanche. Most useful truck I have had.
I counted up all my cars and they came to over thirty, plus 5 m/c, three sailboats and my current jet boat. Wish I had all the money I have spent on buying and fixing them.....

Just remember the bullshit she put you through when the time comes that she wants "one more roll in the hay". Or when she sucks up and want to "be friends". Once a bitch, always a bitch. Always tempting (cause the more nuts they were, the better in the sack) but NEVER worth it! She will use it against you. Good luck man. Been there a time or four....
