We have been going to Mead for the last 10 years, with several different boats. Like Brad said watch the weather, it can get nasty quick but can also be like glass. Just depends. CallVille Bay is close to Sandy beach where there are always lots of parties. We like to go out of Boulder and head northwest toward swallow. There is an island, maybe a few more by now, but some nice beaches around there. Like Chad said we try to post up when we are all going but me and the family will definitely be there more this year with our cruiser. Welcome to VTown!
North end of mead is awesome for our kinds of boats!! No one wants to travel up that far I guess! But that translates into no one to hangout and shoot the shit with.... south end gets all chopped up with wake boats and going through the "narrow" forget about it! Anyone wants to hit the north end this summer I'm game!! This pic was on a Saturday last summer!
The gates of hell
I'm not a local but I know a few and they hit lake Mead 👍🏻

Welcome to Vegas....I made the move about 8 years ago and like you I was worried about regretting it. Born and Raised in SoCal, I thought I wouldn't last in this town and get homesick.
I don't regret it at all. Best decision I've ever made. There is always something to do here. I live in Henderson where I am less than 20 minutes to the boat ramp. 1 1/2 hours to Laughlin for the river. 45 minutes to Willow Beach for COLD river....
There is not much traffic in town - nothing even close to the shit in SoCal....no Libtard gun laws... etc etc etc.
There is a group of us that usually get together every once n awhile starting in March/April....or whenever the weather warms up. One big rule for Lake Mead is to watch the weather forecast closely. Any winds over 10mph spells disaster out there. The lightest winds can case ocean sized swells in no time. I've been out there when in a trough of a wave, the peak of the swell was over my head. It's not fun and obviously extremely dangerous for smaller boats.
We'll keep you posted if/when we meet up and go out. What part of town did you settle in?
So where do all the members out of Vegas head to for just a Saturday? I need to find some people to boat with!
