Some more pics. Shows the good and bad, seats could do with a rebuild. There were some other pics posted when i originally joined this site when i bought it. Anyhow. Any Q's or ideas let me know. Just bought an 06 Sanger V210 so looking to sell this. Worst case, i keep it put 3 or 4 k into it and either sell for 5 or keep it.

1975 Southwind/Jencraft
460 Ford, Berkeley Jet, engine runs well. Newer alternator and fuel pump. Regularly maintained
Bought a few years ago and just used and used it, never put anything into the upholstery, trailer or looks.
Could do with re-upholster, carpet. Trailer - some paint/maintenance.
Looking for about $3k

Ok, not sure on the dump line? The hose connector off the jet connects to a "T" and then off to the headers. I do not see where the water dumps..?

Thanks. So to let more water into the engine. I was at about 160 before the winter then just now its been high. can't think of anything mechanical that may have caused the relatively sudden spike?

Just took out the boat for a run and it uis running at almost 240 temp, lesss when gassed, say about 215, but still hot..? Nothing feels to touch or indicates that there is an overheat. I did pull 12ft of tow rope from the hand hole cover recently, and the impeelor etc all looks good. Any suggeestions? Supposed to be off for the weekend tomorrow, and yes, with the bota, and yes, at a lake..

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Fuel line 2 flame arrestor

Installed a new 'marine' fuel pump as the old one started spewing gas round the engine last time out! I understand that it was an auto pump, so now I am uscg updated!
I have a clear hose to run to the flame arrestor, is there any way that this should be conected?
What I have right now is no way of 'hooking it up'!! See pic..

This is a great site and thanks to all of you I am sold! I made the mistake of posting without introduction or pictures a few weeks ago, so, here it is...
..my very first boat, a 1975 Jem-Craft by Southwind (picked up for $3k).
From the sun drenched paint work, I see it has had two names - "Lifes too Short" and "White Lightning". It has a 460 Ford and a Berk 12JC-A.
It runs good although there have been some issues...
I would like to get this looking nice(r) and have recently started the process the best I can since I lost my job. Thus far, the craft has not fallen to the budget cuts!! (We sold some baby toys to get a new fuel pump
)

I assume it is best to remove the bowl and transom housing to paint?
Do you sand down the pump? If so, with what and to what extent is the best?

I have a 1974 Southwind/Jemcraft 21 ft with a 460 Ford. Everything runs great but I was thinking of getting a place diverter set up installed. It has a Berkeley 12JC.
Two things:
1) The original pump looks terrible and is greying somwhat, never been looked after before i got the boat last year - any suggestions on cleaning it up? Sand it? Spray paint it? If i attache some new parts it will look silly!
2) To what extent is it necessary to include a droop? I see some with a 'platform; for the pump, what is this and is it needed? Will i be wasitng my time and money on trying to get a good roos and incresaed bow attitude?
Any advice and comment is greatly appreciated!
