I believe I sent u a message already, but if not, it’s been sold (negotiated anyway). If the financing falls through for any reason, I’ll let you know. Thanks.

I believe the new cable should bolt right up to my old helm.  I have a slightly different setup and will recheck and let you know.  I know off the top of my head I have a three bolt into the dash as well, but then I have four bolts where the cable meets the helm that holds it together.  I'll get back soon and let you know.

Just an update on the engine.  I was under the impression the BBC only had a blown head gasket since there was some water in the oil.  When I took off the heads, I noticed the block was cracked and now junk, so the boat will be sold without a motor, but I kept the heads, Indmar aluminum exhaust manifolds, intake and carb, which I will include,  It's ready for whatever power you want to put in it.  Juice it up!!  $4,500.

What year is your Carrera?  I just bought a 1997 Howard 21 SC and the rep at Howard says it's the same hull as a Carrera.  Have you heard that as well?

Thx.  It's a nice running hull.  When I bought it, it had a BBC with a high tunnel ram air intake and single 750 carb.  I blueprinted the pump and it ran 75 with GPS Speedo.  Then I went nuts and redid everything.

Is this a fair price?  I was having trouble pricing it.  It's an awesome boat, I believe, with a smooth running bottom.  Any comments?

The issue will be when you are floating and chillin' in the middle of the lake.  My buddy was in his low Bahner when some A-hole in a 30+ footer sped by close to his boat at Lake Havasu.  Well, he saw the huge wake approaching and tried to start the boat and get going before it hit.  As he was turning it over, a huge wave came over the back filled the bilge area.  Another washed over and the back and it started sinking.  The front went straight up and the boat sank 12 feet below the surface, tip still straight up.  He had to pay $2,000 for a recovery boat and diver to retrieve it and tow him back to the launch ramp.  It was the craziest thing I've ever seen.  I've never seen anything like it, or since.  I would make sure you watch out for other big boats and don't just float in the middle of the lake without a backup plan.  Like always, just be cautious and prepared.  Up on a beach, it wouldn't have been a problem.

I'm in the process of replacing the cable as well and keeping all the original parts.  I located this cross reference list and this may help you.  My cable is stamped 300620-192in 7298.  I don't see an E in front of mine.  I'll try and attach the cross-reference photo.

I was just curious if anyone has seen this type of setup before.  I was going to add more power and my buddy mentioned a blower, but that I would have to lose the back seat to make room.  I didn't want to go that route, so he asked around to see what could be done.  He spoke to Mooneyham blowers and they advised they could reverse it and run it off the flywheel if they fabricated a new piece with a pulley to bolt to the flywheel.  Anyway, it came out great, but I haven't seen another setup like it.  I was curious what people thought of the setup.  I'll add a few pictures.  Thanks.

Rare 1979 Southwind Formula One with original gel, color sanded and polished at Pat’s Fiberglass.  New carpet, upholstery in good condition, molding and rub rail replaced, stringers reinforced by Pat's Fiberglass, gauges in great condition, GPS speedo, hydraulic place diverter, grate and shoe done by Jack McClure at MPD, Stainless Steel Bimini Top with matching color canvas.  The boat is set up nicely and rides straight.  The engine in the photos will be swapped out with a big block Chevy, but that needs to be rebuilt (unknown issue).  The pump works, but would likely need some work too.  Too many projects and I hate to let this one go, but it's time.  I am the second owner and have owned it for 20 years.  This is a clean boat.  I know this boat inside and out, so let me know if you have any questions.  (626) 786-three2eight5.  Price is $6,000.  Please call with reasonable offers and thanks for checking it out. You can also email me for additional photos.
