« on: February 08, 2019, 09:38:15 AM »
Located in Visalia, CA. PM me your number and I will send you pictures. Lines and Tee valve included. Tee valve works great but the treads are worn, I have pictures. Pipes are solid and show some age on them. Do not want to ship. Block off plates are in good shaped and are polished. 400 OBO, thanks.

Don't forget, no picking up ice chests (or other items) from the beach (with sand stuck on the bottom) and put them in the boat without cleaning them off.....and Never... Ever put an ice chest or similar item on the deck of the boat.

Just my .02

Gelcoat / Paint / Fireberglass Repair / Re: Sub floor vs stringers
« on: May 05, 2017, 09:21:34 AM »
Not going crazy power. Maybe 500 to 600hp. I'm sure full stringer is definitely the strongest. I'm more concerned about it through rough water. I primarily boat between needles and havasu. Lots of big boats and chop.

This is why I like jet boat people......500-600hp is pretty standard, considered nothing crazy.

The No Wake Zone / Trying to find some motivation
« on: April 03, 2017, 01:32:21 PM »
Have my boat all torn down for new floors and stringers (ans yes its supported from the bottom) and the hull all cleaned and some of the wood cut but trying to find the time/motivation to finish it. I know I can't be the only left trying to finish their boat up for this summer. It just seems like everyone else is out making test runs....SMH

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: 496 head/cam combo
« on: June 15, 2016, 10:24:52 PM »
I made mistakes in the past and it always costs me. Just trying to plan out a solid combo that will work good and be somewhat trouble free,  I was only really after aluminum heads for the weight savings.

Thanks for the input

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / 496 head/cam combo
« on: June 15, 2016, 09:41:04 AM »
I'm looking to step up my game this winter. Currently I'm running a 454 with large oval heads and a decent hyd flat tappet cam, single plane intake and OT bassett's. I am looking to go 10.2-10.5 compression 496 (just seems cost effective these days) with a set a decent aluminum heads (not procomp). Currently the boat turns 4950 with an aggressor AA detailed and cut down a hair (maybe like a AA/A). boat is a 19' mini day, very shallow hull.

The questions are, being that I doubt it will turn more than 6k

1. should I stay with an oval port or go reg port?
 2. cam choice is killing me, not the grind, the style, roller or flat tappet, solid or hyd?

I'm trying to not break the bank but will spend money to do things right, I'm just trying to justify $$

thanks.

The No Wake Zone / Re: Chasing the all mighty MPH
« on: June 08, 2016, 12:18:03 PM »
Anyway you look at it at least you have a nice looking boat. Being bit by the speed bug can hurt. How do you think I feel, i just did a blower install for my Dad and he is turning close to 100 while I'm the 70's with the same exact hull....SMH

IMO, I would put a small blower on it, something that you won't have to do a ton of other work and you will likely gain a min. of 5 MPH and maybe 8-10, maybe. Someone made a good point about the increased maintenance that goes hand in hand with more HP, sometimes its just nice to fill it up with fuel and go.
