Jet Pumps / Re: SD309 American Turbine Cavitation Issue ?
« on: May 29, 2023, 09:44:57 PM »
Bowl doesn?t look too bad, could definitely use some work.  Impeller looks like it has stress cracks in at least one section . We?re there any rocks jammed in the impeller vanes?? Now that you have it apart check that ware ring for damage ???  I?m sure other guys on here can offer more in depth info but my parts were way worse and it just had a slight cavitation out of the hole.

Yes Sir ? we have all had one of those trips that?s gone to hell in a hand basket real quick ? Don?t let it get to you ? it?s all worth it when you make  a SCJB event with family , friends and river bro?s . If you  broke it on the way up then it was gonna break anyway , if it broke at the river then you had a great time , if it broke on the way home , we?ll at least you where headed home Hahahah  ,glad to hear you made it home safe

Topock / Laughlin / Re: Laughlin River
« on: October 23, 2021, 06:13:25 AM »
Was there last month and here is what I came across . If you are launching before noon watch the water level as it can be deceiving . The current in this public launch area will not be too bad but as more gates open at the dam the stronger the current gets  stronger . It will be pretty strong at the end of the day and make for a challenge when you go to load your float . I had to keep the bow pointed up river and punch it to straighten out.  When you first launch , watch out for sea doo  and water taxi traffic as there will be coming from both directions . I myself like to go up to the dam and cruise back down past the casinos about 1/2 throttle . Once you get down by the Harris hotel there is a no wake zone about 100 yards long cruise through that and get ready” it ends right as you approach another public launch area where sea doo rental company’s dump off the rentals for customer use. This place is like the Wild West and turns into a shit show” be very careful in this area, I got hit on the bow by a seadoo and it cost me 5-6k to get repaired . Keep your head on a swivel in this area . Once you get past this area about 1/2 mile or so the ride should be cool “ wear polarized sunglasses as they help pick out possible low spots and enjoy” cruse about 1/2 throttle until you are comfortable with the surroundings . Cruise down until you get to the big over head gas pipe and come up on the veterans memorial just to the left of that cove there’s a cool bar named Coveu” you can dock there and have lunch and watch the game and relax.  Once your done you can blast back up river since your comfortable with the terrain. I hope this helps , enjoy

I’ve always liked the forum  better , the people here are all about the boating culture and having a great time on the water , instead of trying to argue and jam each other over every little thing. Social media can turn into a shit show real quick “ seen it way too many times . Boat on brothers and sisters

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: overheating issue
« on: September 25, 2021, 04:50:57 PM »
Good start !!! Solid plan !!!    I’m sure you’ll find the problem . Even if you find it at the end of your cooling system at least you would have inspected you system and that alone should give you piece of mind on the integrity and efficiency  of your system. Phew “”” that was way too much thinking and way too many big words lol” Boat on bro”s   Stay safe “””

« on: September 25, 2021, 02:28:14 PM »
Start from the beginning  where the water is picked up from the jet housing and go from there . Make sure all the hoses are clear from that point going forward . The two main reason for this is low heat transfer which is scale and dirt or sand for sure  and restriction to flow , something stopping the water from flowing at a correct rate from supply to water pump from pump to block and so on “” I’m sure there dudes here that can offer way more than me but it’s happened to me and a friend and at the end of it all , in one case if we would have started at the beginning we would have caught  the  problem sooner Good luck  Brother and good hunting
