There was a guy on here 69 Kona, I believe his name is Lee. He was competing in the Top 10 with an Olds. I?ll have to see if I can find the thread where he was building a Comp Jet, I believe. It had an Olds as well.Yes fastest I?ve been is 87mph .. pretty fast for a Oldsmobile .. we got quite a few seasons on the motor now . I had Bostick fluff up a set of edelbrocks and got the flow numbers up . Gonna stick them on a new shortblock one of these days .

I have for sale an Oldsmobile 455 short block, basically ready for assembly with all the new parts listed below.Location ?
Block has been bored and honed and decked, comes with new ARP main bolts, new milodon Windage tray and stud kit, KB Hypertectic coated Pistons and moly rings, rods are resized with ARP bolts, neoprene rear seal, reground crankshaft 010/010 with Clevite bearings, customer originally spent $2500 on parts and machine work!
Need gone so come get it for $1500 firm

First needle from primary bowl(oring completely gone had to clean the sludge of it out of the bowl)You need to run e85 and Alcohol needle and seats . I run Av gas and have ran into the same problem
Second needle from secondary bowl( oring expanded and ready to break)
Third needle ( 30 year old needle from an old holley 750) just for comparison

Going off of the Olds article, Do you know what Olds oiling mods have been done?Thanks bud ? the new 461ish olds in our grape boat is high 80?s all motor .
Another thing from the article, is the divider between the center exhaust ports on the heads. It doesn?t meet flush with the header flange and has a gap from port to port. They fill it in and grind it to have a nice flat area for the exhaust to hook up to.
I don?t think he gets on here to much anymore, but 69 Kona had a pretty good running Olds. Maybe send a pm and see if you can pick his brain.

Thank you. Are all these loaders made of steel or stainless steel? I expected lighter weight aluminum but maybe an aluminum loader flexes as an aluminum impeller or propeller does? A non stainless steel contraption that is always in the water seems like a rust factory waiting to happen. I am seeking advise before I paint it and install it. I mean you know that paint or powder coating is gunna get scratched when I'm on the sandbar. Now I'll have rust! Right?That’s loader is fine for your V-hull and it’s more than likely made out of ChromeMolly . I run that same loader on our v- hull
