The No Wake Zone / Re: Mr Ed Jet Boats
« on: May 04, 2020, 10:39:17 AM »
Hey guys, I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself.  I own a 1976 Mr Ed mini day cruiser. It's been in our family since new. Super solid high quality boats!  I've spent this COVID time working on a few upgrades the the stock 460.  Added an Edelbrock high rise intake and had to do some engine cover modifications.  Everything is coming together.  I look forward to hearing from anyone else that may have a Mr. Ed.  They are rare for sure.
Nice Boat

Thank you! The stringers I just got 22 oz carpet from boat carpet.com and used the aerosol spray on adhesive. It works great. Just let it tack up and then put it down. The shag is actually not secured at all. I did this for the purpose of possible needing to clean it or dry it out or if I just didn’t like it after I was finished. The seats hold the side pieces down in the back, and the front bow access hole cover, diverter control, and the rear interior piece all sort of squeeze the carpet down. It’s heavier carpet too. But I had it over 70 mph and it didn’t move. It wasn’t flappin in the breeze like a tarp or something. I’m happy how it turned out and you can’t see the transitions or cuts or anything. No foam either. It’s like 2 1/2 inch shag. Feels like you’re walkin on a cloud my boy!

Your Boat looks Great Thanks for the share n the advice .

Boat Racing / Re: Diverter Control
« on: January 16, 2020, 02:21:59 PM »
I run a sanger superjet with a droop snoot and ride plate and manual  diverter  I leave the line with the diverter all the way down and instantly  go 2 notches  up  and leave it there the whole ride , I played with it a few times and for me this was the best for mph and et  ,with the diverter all the way up I  scrubbed speed ,I agree  with everyone else you half to play with it and find the sweet spot
Not sure if this is the right spot ? But your info is what I’m looking for . I have a sleek craft Tunnel hull. Would a droop snoot on my Berkley help me also how important is the ride plate ? I’m new but want it done right. Thank you for your time n experience.

Jet Pumps / Re: Berkeley 12JC impeller question
« on: July 22, 2019, 01:02:17 PM »

Yup, you really can't miss with an A cut.

Even if you increase your stock horsepower to 500 you will still be OK with an Aluminum A as long as it don't need crazy RPM to do it....

If you are going to shoot for 500+ by too much, or have to spin that impeller at 6K to do it, I recommend going mag bronze at the minimum or stainless  steel if you are looking to make redonculous power....

The value in a new impeller can really be felt in buying a complete rebuild kit, it saves you about $150 in sourcing stuff individually...

Good luck, and I have no idea what you mean about the significant other bitching, pissing and moaning about bringing home a boat, or two, or seven....

No idea at all, I think you need to work on your boat hiding skills.....    :screwy: :screwy: :screwy:

Jet Pumps / Re: Split Bowl Conversion
« on: July 21, 2019, 02:16:58 PM »
The bowls are interchangeable. But a JG has a nozzle adapter. Other than that, it's basically the same.
Jet Boat Performance sells JC bowls converted to JG. You need to call them but they might take your old JC as a "core" if it is in good condition.  Or they can convert yours. It's best to give them a call.

Afternoon all,
Just curious what all would be in involved with changing out my functioning JC to a split bowl JG? Is it literally just changing out the bowl or is there more involved? Looking to do this in the most cost/time effective manner. I’ve heard of some altering their JC to make it a split bowl.
Thanks for any knowledge that can be dropped
Have the same question? Please text me at 941-266-8376 would love any advice on this thing you

WTB / Berkley Jet pump question?
« on: July 19, 2019, 05:58:01 PM »
I’m new have a Sleek craft tunnel hull. The current pump on it now is missing a lot of parts. My question is this , keeping in mind my wife wants a  huge Rooster tail ! Our deal for the boat. Should I just have the 12-j E rebuilt or is a 12-JC more adaptable to adjust for a Rooster. And any suggestions advice on best route to go not racing just would like a nice top speed n large rooster tail. What parts do you guys recommend ? Thank you for your Help . New guy appreciation.

Interior / Re: Carpet backing
« on: June 04, 2019, 09:14:43 PM »
Yes it should be rubber backing. Anything else and the glue seeps through the carpet, discolors  and leaves hard spots. Use Roberts outdoor glue from the Home Depot and lightly scrape Trall the glue onto the hull and then lay the carpet. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
