Looking for either a reasonably priced yj energizer kit or a yj pump with kit already in it, preferably with a diverter. Does anyone have one laying around ?????

Jet Pumps / HELP !!! No water circulation
« on: May 27, 2010, 03:26:27 PM »
I just put my 79 challenger on the water for the first time. I got the boat knowing the was a problem with the motor, I had it pulled and fixed and it runs great. I took 1 trip around the lake with no problems then while idling in I noticed the motor heating up I looked in the back and no water was coming out from the thermostat outlet hose in the back of the transom. I just had it hooke up to the hose before taking it out and i had no problems with circulation. The problem has go to be with the pump or a clogged intake hose. I am waiting for it to cool done before I start diagnosing it. The question i have is my pump is a jacuzzi yj, I know they operated a lower pressure but it should put enough pressure to circulate thru the block, right ???? Someone suggested the maybe that pump needs to be ran with a water pump but that dosent sound right. While @ 3k-3500 RPM arount the lake I had no temp problems. Any ideas ????? Thanx in advance..

Jet Pumps / Jacuzzi yj help

I have a yj and it came with the factory trim attachment but no hydraulic pump for it. I really want a diverter but dont want to pay for an energizer.....So the question is....Is it possible to mount any type of diverter to my yj ???? If not, Is the factory trim gonna do much good and/or put up any kind of rooster tail ? Where can I get a hydaulic pump for it, how much do they run and is it even worth going thru the trouble of installing it ?

Not sure if its a yj or wj, I think its a yj. Will it work on a yj ? Do they even make one for the yj. I have the hydraulic trim unit but no pump for it but I dont think it will put up the kind of rooster tail I want even if I did pay 200-400 for a hydraulic pump. Heres a pic of the pump, Let me know what you know about it.
