Sorry it took so long to get back to you. No to the factory bushings unless you call a holley kit factory.  O0I think I am going to just invest in a new base plate for it later. Just dont like the idea of running it with a little drip now and then. :o As for the oring deal also.....no way to mill the shafts.... Thanks for the ideas though....

Nordie.....its all good man. Nothing taken wrong......I am just an old fart playing with a new toy and you know how us old people are.....may sound cranky, but were good. Back in the 80's was the era for BBC or known as  "RAT POWER"  This is my first time with a jet so i take everything info wise I can get and put it to good use.........this is kinda like a midlife crises thing (cant afford a supercar so I am making a superjet) :screwy:. ROFLMAO.. Altleast thats what the wify says. But its all good man.

I did put a 750 Holley dual feed sec. vacum carb on it after fighting that edle for 2 weekends. Now like I said it screems when you hit it. Love it.

Here is one of it running that a friend took from the beach here at lake Murry in SC. kinda hard to see the boat, but thats the second time out with it before it got painted 3 weeks ago. Now working on getting the inside of it straitened out. Here are a few of it while I was working on it before painting and a few after painting..

Aslo, has anyone seen a tahiti in this style hull before. I know they made bubble decks, but never seen one like this.

Little side note again....the Edeljunk carb is also not on there anymore....has a 750 dual feed holley. Never could get the edel  to run right at all. Now it screems. Most of what you see in the picks I read and did from reading the forums here. Have to say...between "Tom"..."Beerjet"... just to name a few AND MANY MANY others I have gotten it this far.  Thanks guys and thanks to Socaljetboats!!! Great site.

Ok...I have looked and searched for and answere to this one also on more sites than this....

Have a Holley 750 list 1310-3 that has a moist secondaries shaft leak when motor is shut off and is under fuel pressure (6psi max after engine is shut off or runninig). I have set the rear float 1/8 of an inch below the site window with the carb level. I know Holley's are known for this if the bushings are worn on the shaft or if it has to much play in the shaft. So i replaced the shaft and bushings and it is still doing it. I looked at the butterflies when it was shut down and I can see them getting wet, but can't tell where the fuel is comming from. Any ideas? It has had a kit put in it with all new no stick gaskets, but this is really getting the best of me as how to stop it.

Thanks jim

This is to funny to read.....I just had the same thing happen to my chebby's starter. Thought it was the key switch and replaced it....that fixed it on the trailer untill we got to the lake and it started again and had to use a screwdriver to start it...then replaced the silinoid....no luck there either started out great and then the same thing again. What it was is a bad wire going from the key switch to the silinoid. So i ran another heavier wire to the starter from the switch and it has worked great ever since. This was just last week to be exact. Check all the connections and the wire from the key switch and get a long piece of wire that is heavier than you have on there now and run it to the starter and see if it acts up. Worked great for me.

Little side note, all the wiring in boat was new and sleeved. So dont understand how it went bad, but it did.

Thanks for looking that up........So, what you are saying is i have a trully set of old old old pistons running in this thing........ :o. This is to funny..I was told when I bought this one it had wiesco pistons, comp cam, and a few other things...but it ran/runs great, uses no oil, and is a blast to just and sit and listen to...not to mention it hauls a** when you step on it. Here is a prime example of buying some thing unseen....internals that is. But I am happy.....Headed out to the lake tomorrow to get it wet and all that goes with it.

I miss typed the number on them, they are P5699. It was late when typing this and all. I did a web search on them and didnt find a thing. As for this engine, its still running great so far, so untill it pukes out, guess I will leave well enough alone and let it be. I have another std454 that is going to the shop soon so i know what it has in it.....LOL. Just has me wondering...... ???
Thanks again for the replies also. You know over here on the eastcoast, we dont have all the super nice jets you see over there and what we do have we are trying to keep alive the best we can.....LOL.

Thank you for the comp, And the reply..... Its cominng along a little slow, but its getting there.  ;D
The biggest thing is I cant find anything on them. I called the company who made them and they referenced the number I gave them and said they never heard of them.....Dont know about that, but you know how that goes. The other thing is I am wondering about the C.R they give and if they are forged or cast. Hate not knowing what the deal is....even with the cam...it has solid lifters and roller rockers....there again dont know the grind :banghead:. Cant complain about the engine yet as it pulls harder than you would think. And there are a few guys over here that are suprised at how well it does. But when they ask me about it I cant tell them anything and when I do they are like....."what kind". Guess when its time to freshen I will just have to find out then. Thanks again Jim

Hello to all and wanted to say thanks to all the people that post all the information a person can get on a jet boat. I have been reading and reading and reading so much so that I am almost crosseyed from it all. There again thanks to all.

Here is my delema, I live on the eastcoast and jets a far and few around here. Got my first jet boat and had to do a lot of work to it but I can say it will fly for a 20'. Pictures to follow.

The engine is a 468 bbc with peanut port heads that work great. 750 holly dual feed and holley airgap intake.. dont know the cam as i got the motor second hand but it is a comp cam with behive springs and turns right at 5000 with a A impy just rebuilt and has a nice little chop to it. Before rebuild it ran 56 at 5200 and on gps....have not run gps since rebuild but it pulls harder than it did with the seatometer.

The thing I am trying to find out is about the pistons in this motor. Pulled the heads a while back to take a look see and found "Manley .060 P699" stamped on them.  I know they are .060 over sized, but i was thinking of refreshing this thing and dont know what to do about these. Where to get rings or info on them. I have looked everywhere to no avail. Engine runs great with no issues. No pinpging, rattles, nothing. When you step on it takes of like a rail.

Thanks for the help all. I know I am also a long way off....3000 miles but used to live in lompok outside Vandenburg AFB for a good while.
