SoCal Lakes / Re: anyone going to el cap this weekend
« on: June 01, 2008, 10:06:29 PM »
Damn, looked at what happened to this thread after I jumped in. LOL. I should threaten to show up at Parker, again. ha ha ha

Went to the lake, got 45 minutes of great running outboard this time before it went to sh!t (again). Made progress of some sort, fuel pump isn't keeping up with demand. Figure it out more on a different day. Never saw Marc. Never saw Sebastian. Met up with Don and Thomas, got to drive Don's boat. It was a lot of funn being in the driver's seat of a jet boat again. Thomas' boat is running goooood (phukin Ford).

WarZone / Re: How about 85MPH?
« on: June 01, 2008, 09:59:07 PM »
Mine did 49 mph on the GPS for about 3 1/2 hours before it melted. Uhmmm... that's all I got.  :P

It takes a great engine to do 83, there's nothing wrong with that.

You had a bad asssed boat and turned it into something waaaay better. That blue/black/what'ya'call'it color is SIK!. Looks like a different boat.

just as always.... you took my post way too personal and had to get defensive as always and start taking jabs, surprisingly they werent personal this time ::) I was trying to give you some advice from going and creating more of a headache and get on the water...maybe thats what you want, but from what i read, apparently not.

go buy a vdrive, i dont care...im done trying to be friendly and assist you in any way. youre a pain in my ass.

You're a dick, but in a feminine way. I don't want your advice. I never asked for your advice. IMO, you don't know sh!t. Like I give a f**k what you think. Personal enough for you?   :-*

wow 23 pages long  ::)
remember this ???

i picked a couple of good ones for ya, just get your shit running like terry said. although now that my shit runs i'm bored ::)

Ahhhh, that's cute.  :-*

....cant we all just get along here?

Nah, this is the internet, where boys can act like girls and not get their assses whooped like those girls do in the real world. You know what I mean otherwise you'd have jumped in on popularity contest B.S. of this site a long time ago. You never have jumped into the B.S. on this site and you never will. I like your style and you've got my respect.

Probably the smartest thing I've seen you post this year...

I've got a goal, I'm trying to be realistic about it and learn something along the way. It takes A LOT to get a jet to triple digits. I don't have A LOT.

I'd never race a jet in circles with the current board involved.

A year or so ago the nut job is asking if a small block can go in a jet boat, now the fool is doing 61 mph around a race track and wants to give me advice on how to reach triple digits, what an idiot. The pack on the track would go faster with one of those boats Jim's daughter drives, with Jim's daughter driving.  :banghead:  Get off my c**k B-rad.

« on: June 01, 2008, 09:08:18 PM »
I don't remember exactly how I found it but I've come acroos it a few times on accident. It's a website that shows almost every jet drive ever made, I think there might be a list of all the boat manufacturer's on the same web page... anyone know/seen WTF I'm writing about? I can't be the only person on this board to have seen that web page...

have you ever driven a v-drive? i know you have been a passanger in one and from what I was told you didnt enjoy it...

Yes, but only for a minute or two. It's very simple, I don't like being the passenger in anything that's fast. If I still had my 1100 Katana I'd offer you a ride as a passenger and scaired the phuk out of you easily, sh!t my 600 could have done that job.

... im not being a dick here, but i think you should maybe get some behind the wheel time before you attempt to start breaking triple digets. youre trying to fly when you havent even started to crawl yet...

You have the right to your opinion just as I do mine. But I disagree, I think you are being a dick here. I don't recall ever typing or saying that I want to jump into a boat and immediately go triple digits. As much as I'd like to flatter (sp?) myself, my balls aren't that big and it would definately take some seat time to get where I want to go. Hell you never know, I may never get the balls to go that fast even with years of experience. Speaking of experience (haven't even started to crawl yet), how's your first boat doing? Hopefully well.

... i cant express this enough, as well as many others here.....get your boat in the water FIRST....then start worrying about putting your foot in it and getting triple digest...

Who said any different? Not me.

... youre trying to put the horse before the carriage. i could come up with a million sayings, which one will stick? ...

Coming from you, none of the sayings will stick. Why would I let them stick? Your making judgments of me and you don't know sh!t about me, except for maybe what you've been told. If you want to make judgements on others from what you've been told about them, have fun.

... im not tellin ya what to do here, but your head has got to hurt from just clicking this " :banghead: " so much, let alone actually doing it. cuz its sure starting to make my damn head hurt from reading this thread.

I wouldn't listen anyway.

Well it's pretty simple from my point of view Brad. Either a person can build there own boat and learn while doing it, they can pay someone else to build it for them, or a combination of the two. If they decide to build their own boat, they can run what everyone else is running because it's easier (example: race gas) or the person can try and learn something (example: research different types of fuels - race gas, E85, alcohol, methanol).

And since your head is hurting I'm going to type out your response for you so your head won't hurt as bad. Pick one.
I've typed out a rant but I've decided it just isn't worth it.
I don't understand what you're trying to say.
I think you're putting the horse before the carriage.

The funny thing to me is that not too long ago you were trying to get back into boating because your family did it when you were a kid (just like me). You made some pretty stupid posts asking questions and making statements since then due to your lack of experience (just like me). To one extent or another you built your boat and had someone else do other work on your boat (just like me, High Life). Now you're trying to school me that I am stupid for thinking that I can put a boat on the water and immediately drive 100 mph even though I've never been near 100 mph <--- Hello? Is this thing on? When did I ever say or type that?

Yea Rod, lets get it runnin. Yer gonna need another $750 or so in gear, lifeline and helmet, to even drive it. I'm whitch you brother whatever you decide to do.

That's whats cool about you Terry. Thanks.

Does anyone know where I can buy much bigger nuts and a slightly smaller brain (can't go too much smaller than what I've got already, LOL).

El Cap, today, Sunday the 1st of June,  ;D . Marc said he's going so he can put new bunk rails on his trailer. Sebastian might go, depends on his boat. Don is going and will be there around noon, he's bringing his wakeboard with his jet boat. I'm going, I'll be there around noon also, I will have the G/F and a unknown amount of kids with me, wakeboard and tube are going also (for the kids). I'll be there as long as the boat is running good, the engine could take an hour to go to crap, could take 4 hours, may have finaly fixed it  ???  but I won't know until there's a load on the engine from the water. See ya' and have fun.  :-*

I'm thinking about selling the Mach 1 and getting a flat bottom v-drive. Much easier/cheaper to get to triple digits.

No. It's inherent in the design for it to flow poorly.

That Desktop Dyno is crap, it lies!!! It said I would have slightly less than 700 HP, completely ridiculous. We all know the thing will never get done so how could it have 700 HP?  :banghead:

Thanks Skip.

...  Oh, and the glass, has been replaced with clear Lexan tubing.

Great idea! I've always used the glass versions also, never had a problem, but if I ever do have a problem with them it would probably be that boat's LAST problem.  ;)

Which Brand logs flow better?  Does anyone know where flow testing may be posted?

I seriously doubt if there is a difference between the 2 brands you're looking at/considering.

SoCal Lakes / Re: anyone going to el cap this weekend
« on: May 31, 2008, 12:45:24 PM »
For several years my parents pleaded with me to try water skiing because my sister loved it so much. I told them I didn't want to and that it looked boring. So finally one day, at San Antonio Lake, to shut them the hell up on the subject I went out there and on my second try got up and skied around  for quite some time. I wasn't interested in it then and I'm still not interested in it. Something about following someone else all day drives me crazy. Different strokes for different folks.

So we were/are typing about going Sunday to El cap, right? I still will probably need a tow vehicle.  :banghead:

IMO  Don't use filters with glass.  IMO

I'm definately interested if they have a non-vented cap.
