Anyone interested in a rebuildable 455 Olds?  Complete from manifold to pan.  Taken down to short block right now.  Was going to have the heads redone and put it back together but no time for it.  $500 for everything.

Ok im looking for a new boat.  Got 3-4k to spend.  I know im not going to get a bad ass boat for that but lets see what you got.  Wanting  a BBC/Berkeley set up but not set in stone.  Needs to seat at least 5.  Most of the stuff I've went to look at on Craigslist has been beat up crap but they think they have gold.  Dont mind a little work but dont want a full rebuild job right now.  Want to at least last the summer. Whats ya got?

Got a boat with a 455 in it the kid told me it was built a year or so ago but the motor looked like shit.  Rust oil etc everywhere. Wife pulled the motor down last night.  Bottom end looks good still has cross hatch in cylinders everything looks clean except for carbon on pistons.  Heads are a different story.  Thick black varnish on the intake side.  Looks like a couple of valves weren't seating right.  Guess I'll have a valve job done and the head surfaced since it looked like it leaked water out of the side.  If I have them surfaced will it affect the valve lash since there not adjustable?   They're flat tappet hydraulic.   What else do I need to look for on an Olds motor when putting it together?  Do they make a 1pc pan gasket?

Which would you choose for a factory or mild built 454 and why?

Ok I know it's been discussed somewhere before but I'm askin anyway...  Stock Indmar 454, no advance at all in distributor mechanical vacuum or otherwise.  What should my total timing with no advance?

Ok I have a stock Indmar 454 in my commander jet. Took off the spark arrestor and noticed excessive oil on the arrestor and all in the carb.  Figured the valve cover's weren't baffled so i took them off.  Wrong. Definitely baffled.  Lots of oil in PCV hose also.  So what can i do to stop this?

I have a 2000 Ford Excursion up for trade. Runs and drives great! V10 with 194k. Needs a little tlc but it's very reliable. Wouldn't hesitate to drive to New York today! Looking for a 19ft+ jet boat with 454(or similar). Also would consider pontoon if decent enough... PM or text with offers or for more info on excursion.

just got back a little while ago, man what a good time. leagal chemistry i looked for you out there thought i saw you turned arround and chased this boat about 4 miles down by the dam asked if it was you and well  it wasnt. he had the same paint job on his boat as yours. well i tried had a great trip boat ran perfect though i could only get 56mph @4400 rpm. but i guess i can sacrafice some speed for reliability huh. anyways here are a few pics for you guys to enjoy.

Went to Elsinore this morning to do a little tunnin. everything else aside it was a great day for the lake...  but its the everything else that got me. took off after we launched to play with the carb a little. bought a quick change kit for the vac. secondaries and played with that a bit but it didnt seem to cange anything. only gettin 2900rpm when im standin on it, WTF! 47 mph max!! this is bull shit. got some popin at the top end range too. but the bottom end is way better. so i said screw it lets have a couple cocktails ill deal with it later. take off about 3:00pm headin home and about 3 miles down the freeway my engine cover blowes open!!  flips all the way over punches a hole in my scoop, ripes out a hinge, and bends the cables to both my fwd/rvrs and my diverter. now there both junk. goin to the river in three weeks now i got this to fix and my carb problem is wors than when i started...    I just should have stayed home. but at least i didnt lose the cover on the freeway so its all repairable

im wondering what size carb i should be running on my 454? the one i have on there just doesnt seem to be doing the job. dont know what size it is but it is a holley 4 bbl. dont know what the specs are on the engine but he said it was set up for turbo's so i assume its low compression. it supposedly has a small cam and it has an Edelbrock dual plane manafold. thinkin of may be a 750 or 850 dbl pumper?  the one thats on it now is only givin me about 3800 rpm. and once in a while when i stomp on it the rpm's will come alive bt ive only had it do that twice.  mostly you stomp on it and it sounds like its starving  for fuel. anyways just wondering what you guys thought.

who's got the green Dodge dakota sport 4x4.  passed you a few times in that mess they call the freeway going through riverside/corona area on wed.  seen the So Cal Jet Boats sticker on the back window. i was in a big orange transfer truck 2 hrs to get from redlands to corona!! thats some bullshit right there!!

 O0just picked it up the other weekend.  '76 kona 20ft.  BBC berkley pump. just needs a tandem axle trailer though.   cant wait to get on the water.  had to buy it the wife was tired of waiting for the project boat.  if anyones interested im selling the project boat.  its posted here under 70 biesemier.  entertaining all offers!!!
