I built this boat for a buddy a couple years back. I picked up the bare hull that had been rotting away in Palmdale.

First, it got one hell of a detail. A couple days of wet sanding and buffing and she was shiny again!

Next up, I ditched the single axle and swapped it onto a tandem axle trailer. Of course, the bunks didn?t line up so I made new bunk mounts and bunks.

I'm selling my 1975 Mandella project. I stripped it down to cut out and replace the fiberglass fuel tanks. Currently it sits as seen in the pics.

The gel is in great shape, no beaching scar. The boat sits on a tandem axle trailer that's in excellent shape. Has bearing buddies. The interior is decent, it has a bimini top. It has a Berk intake. I have a new steering rack and cables and tons of polished hardware to go in it. The motor mounts are polished along with just about everything else that could be. 

With a little bit of work this boat could be really nice.

'76 Southwind 18 jet boat. I recently went through the whole boat. It's been re-rigged and cleaned up to be trouble free for years to come.

The trailer has new bunks. It also has a break-away tongue for tight parking.

The gelcoat is in great shape with no major blemishes. I buffed it out recently and it really looks good, especially for the year. The interior also cleaned up really nice. The vinyl is soft and the stitching is still good. The carpet was replaced at some point before I got it and is in good shape. I installed a new steering and throttle cable.

I recoated the stringers and filled any extra holes from the prior rigging job. The battery got a new stringer mount box and all the motor mounts were polished up. The bilge is flowcoated and looks nice.

The motor is a Ford 460. It has a nice polished scoop sitting on top of a Holley 850 DP. The ignition was upgraded to a Pertronix electronic system. I ran a set of Bassett Twisties instead of the stock manifolds. The boat fires right up and sounds mean.

It has a Berkeley JC with a new style hydraulic diverter and steering wheel control.

I’m located in Winchester, CA. Asking $6,000.

I want to swap a BBC into a boat that had a BBF. I have a rail kit and a mock up block ready to go.

What angle do I want between the motor and pump?

How much play do I leave in the driveline so it doesn’t bind up on the impeller shaft?

Where do I take the angle measurements on the pump and hull?

I assume I start by leveling the boat with a digital angle finder on the keel then basing everything off that. I appreciate any and all help! Thanks in advance.

I’m curious to see how everyone is setting up the fuel system on their carbureted motors. Who uses a fuel water separator? Are any filters used after the fuel water sep? What kind of fuel pumps are being used in the 600-700 HP range?
