Before and after pics...

Full disclosure, I have a parts car, but it's red...

Radiator support, headlight, hood, grille, ac condenser, radiator, inner bumper, bumper cover and a horn....

The No Wake Zone / Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
« on: December 24, 2018, 02:03:43 PM »
I want to take a moment and wish all my boat loving brethren a very joyous Holiday Season.

I'm actually counting down the days until 2018 ends. One hell of a year it's been, the roughest in my life thus far.

I hope you all find yourselves looking forward to 2019, are healthy, happy and most important with the ones you love.

Cherish every moment, your life can change at the click of a switch.

See you guys and gals on the other side.

The No Wake Zone / Potential job opportunities
« on: April 22, 2017, 03:16:27 PM »
Alright ladies and gentlemen.

I have been a union refrigeration service fitter for 20 years.

I recently accepted a job that takes me to the next level in my career and I have an opportunity to grow this area (Silicon Valley south to South Monterey County).

I will be assessing the needs of the growth potential and will be on the lookout for that special individual(s) that is either looking to get into the building trades as a newbie, expand their experience if already playing the HVAC game, change companies or leave the non union sector and become a union trained professional.

I've taken a job from a growing company (not new, incorporated in 1988) and this is a very unique opportunity to get your feet wet with an ambitious business model.

We cover territories in Sacramento, Santa Rosa, Livermore, Reno NV and now Silicon Valley. I will be looking for self motivated, smart, ass kickers for all areas.

Extra training, certifications, fast paced growth in the building trades.

Looking for;

Computer and networking experience.
Mechanics from all disciplines.
Construction types that haven't found their niche.
No experience really necessary and we are a union shop.

If you, or someone you know is looking to get their foot in the door, hit me up with a pm with some contact info.

I am the General Foreman for the area and responsibilities are to assemble an elite group of service providers with the right stuff.

I start my new position on Monday, May 8th and plan to hit the ground running.

So you have plenty if time to get in touch.

Thanks for reading all the verbal vomit.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Headers vs thru hull
« on: February 25, 2017, 02:08:44 PM »
This has such a vast dynamic, it's hard to completely answer.

Three things stick out.

First, the obvious. In order to have through hull anything, the temperature needs to be quite low, this means mixing the exhaust gasses with cooling water. With reversion with aggressive camshaft grinds, this could be catastrophic, so it should be said that through hull exhaust, unless extremely exotic, limit camshaft choice.

Next, look at the temperature of the actual exhaust with a water jacketed header or log and an actual header, never mind the fact that an injected header puts water right at the outlet of the head (goes back to the reversion discussion).

Lastly, there is a pretty substantial argument for safety and sound, you can't get anywhere near a header pipe after a hard run, injected or dry. Whereas you can lay a forearm on the center riser or jacketed headers.

I know this does not answer where you were going, but should be enough to get the conversation started.

WarZone / Funny or not?
« on: February 03, 2017, 10:02:10 AM »
On my way to work this morning, a charter bus passed me in the hot lane.

As it went by, the illuminated placard said  "SB to TT".

I read it and immediately started laughing.

I'm sure it was innocent enough, like Santa Barbara to Tahoe/Truckee, but to my twisted mind, meant something completely different.

Any other sick fukks out there see it too? Or am I just messed up?

For those of you on the Facebook Socal page,  sorry about that, I lost my cool.

It seems the FB page is just an invitation for small balled douchbags to rail people.

Like to punch a couple of those dipfucks in the throat...

Rant over,  feeling better.

The No Wake Zone / Welcoming 2017
« on: December 31, 2016, 11:03:01 PM »
To all my water loving brothers and sisters.

In all honesty, 2016 sucked a wrinkled nasty tit.

It did have a few bright spots,  but for the most part,  was pretty shitty.

I hope the new year brings you all great things,  adventures,  success and accomplishments.

I don't resolute,  but do challenge myself to do better than the previous year.

My list includes;

Seeing friends and family way more often.

Working less hours.

Get on the water at least weekly this summer.

Camp at least a dozen times.

Catch some fish.

Lose 20 pounds and increase my dead lifting capacity by 20%.

Rid myself of some of the crap I have and get down to a reasonable amount of toys.

BBQ way more.

Get more sleep.

And last but not least,  improve the relationship of my immediate family.

I hope you all have a safe new years and the 2017 blesses you with change you not only desire,  but find yourself needing.

Nothing but love.

Your friend.

The No Wake Zone / Headed to Vegas tomorrow
« on: November 05, 2016, 05:01:02 PM »
Headed to Las Vegas for some unfortunate family crap tomorrow.  Anyone recommend any inexpensive fun things to do while there?  Not much of a gambler and not a lot of cash. It's just me and my wife.

Heading down to help out my father-in-law. We're driving so I can pick up boat parts and stop by the river house.

Thanks in advance.

The No Wake Zone / UTV info. wanted
« on: September 06, 2016, 12:15:42 AM »
I know some of you guys have side by sides and Razr's  and such.

I'm  looking at buying a pretty large piece of property that's a little hilly. I'm just doing research right now and was wondering what UTV you would recommend.

Just for running down for the mail, bring the trash cans down etc. It's about a mile,  maybe a mile and a quarter to the main street. Also for checking the fences,  dragging chainsaws and fuel around,  maybe drag a small trailer for firewood/debris.

I had a Kawasaki Mule years ago (like 2001) and I remember that it was a loud,  clunky anemic pile. Basically a motorized pinch point that smelled like fat exhaust.

Obviously,  I'm not independently wealthy,  looking at about a $5k budget max.  I also want to do used,  but not used up.

I don't need to go 50 mph, but with the steep hills,  it will need to have some balls. And fairly quiet. Not impossible to work on a plus. Lol

I wouldn't mind getting something I could take on camping trips when we don't take the CJ7.

Thanks in advance.

WarZone / How my life works....
« on: August 21, 2016, 10:17:31 PM »
So check it... This is just a goofy story about how my life works.

I was just catching up on some Facebook stuff, checking a local garage sale page when I stumble upon a person advertising a Weber Genesis BBQ for $25.

I figured, shoot, there has to be $25 worth of spare parts on it for that....

So I message the dude, he messages me right back and I told him I wanted it, sight unseen, on his word. So my son and I go pick it up, this thing is like brand new, one half full bottle of propane and an empty spare.

Cleaning tools, side burner, all stainless.... Awesome.

Hand him the $25 (would have tossed him some more, but it was all I grabbed) and we're on our way.

So stoked.....

WarZone / App glitch?
« on: August 10, 2016, 11:46:16 AM »
Anybody else ever get a thread you can't view?  The ads still work. I can see other threads,  even post,  but every so often get one I can't see.

This is the "got the boat itch?" thread.

Brad, you do an amazing job. This is the only real glitch I see and thought you should at least know about it.....

Verizon Wireless,  Samsung S5 (two different phones) latest app version,  does it on 4G and wifi.

Thanks.

OK guys and gals.

Show of hands, who would have an interest in a valve to be used in place of the famous gate valve that will not only limit incoming water pressure,  but also preheat the cooing water and control the flow at different speeds? I think I'm nearly ready to reveal what I've been playing around with for the last couple years.

This is going to be the next big thing.  Seriously.

How much would one pay for a kit that would end the milky oil,  the high oil usage,  valve cover snot, and sketchy systems? .

The No Wake Zone / Memorial Day
« on: May 30, 2016, 10:06:06 AM »
Just want to take a moment and thank our brave service members past and present.

Remembering those we lost can be both a blessing and a curse.
I have family from all walks of military service,  from The British Royal Navy,  to the Army, including the 101st Airborne, Screaming Eagles, The Marines and the US Navy.  Your service made this country what it is. You will always be remembered as heroes.

May you finally rest knowing your families are safe.

Never forget.

The No Wake Zone / Lake San Antonio done for the year.
« on: May 28, 2016, 10:52:10 AM »
Saw a story the other night about county supervisors selling of material property from LSAR, tractors,  picnic benches,  docks.  It will be discussed that the park be closed indefinitely in an effort to cut costs.

Thoughts?..

Sucks to see such a cool spot go to waste like this.

About 12 people will likely lose their jobs.
