Hey guys been a while since I've posted anything but I recently purchased a new boat,1969 Weimans 17' jet boat with a 468 671 blown BBC. The first trip I took it out to Silverwood lake to see how it would handle. Boat is fast and a blast until I hit a couple small waves nothing that I Haven't hit before with my Hornet jet boat and I find my self doing a 360 before I could even blink. Very scary ordeal I tell you. After assessing the situation I have a theory.  With the boat coming out of the water on speed I don't think my jet is in the water all that much and hitting those couple of small waves I lost my propulsion causing me to wipe out. See pictures below to look at my pump angle and tell me what you think? I have an idea what the fix is but would like to hear what you guys think. Thanks.

Ok guys decided to go stroker on my olds. I know some may disagree with even attempting this on an olds because of all the issues they have but please no smart remarks. This will be for you olds guys. Im going to continue to update the process as its built along the way. Right now I have all parts except the rod bearings so for so now the crank is installed torqued. Went with ARP studs along with cross plates for the 2,3,4 caps. Main bearing clearances are .003 thousands and end play is .007 thousands. When the rod bearings get here I will update the process of installing those and the Pistons.

Stepped up to bigger carbs so have dual Edelbrock 1405 carbs. I have custom stainless fuel lines included, regulator and gauge not included. Also included is a throttle cable adaptor made for Edelbrock carbs as well. Asking $450. Carbs have just been rebuilt this year and no issues.

Ok here is the deal. I have been trying to get my boat to idle and this thing is kicking my a$$... I have an olds 455 with edelbrock aluminum heads and a dual quad offy tunnel ram. Running two edelbrock 600 carbs. Am I under carburated? This engine is running about 9.5-1 compression.

Well got my boat on the water finally this year. Runs great off idle. I was pushing right around 5 grand on moderate water and that boat is fast. Estimating at least 65-70 mh. Ok so now I have the biggest problem. I have a vacuum leak. I'm pretty sure I have one on the back carb. Couldn't get it to idle no matter what I did. After much frustration trying to set the idle I just bumped the idle up so far that it was dribbling fuel out the primary's to keep it running. I know probably wasn't a good thing but I was trying to salvage my day. I have dual edelbrock 1405 carbs. Using a can of brake cleaner I'm pretty sure that where the top half of the carb meets the bottom half has the vacuum leak. Tightened it down and it helped a little bit still there. Does anybody have any tips for me? This can't be that hard to set. I mean I have set dual carbs before on vw's and had good success.

Does anybody know anything about who manufactures the hornet style boat I don't see anything about them much but yet that's what it says on my pink slip.

I have a 1976 Hondo Jet boat with a Jacuzzie jet. Pink in hand for both trailer and boat. just put brand new carpet in the boat and the interior is in excellent shape. Has original jel coat. Boat comes without engine. Had a 455 olds in it and using the engine for anouther project. I do have a place diverter that im willing to let go with the boat for the right price.
