« on: May 31, 2017, 09:37:50 AM »
4 people killed Sunday with head on collision with big rig. One of the down sides to going to Parker vs Blythe is the 177 from Desert Center to Parker.  I do it at night a lot and it can be scary. I've seen a lot of close calls. Here is the LA times article. Be careful!!!

Project Boats For Sale / 1990 Kawasaki Jet Mate
« on: October 17, 2016, 12:41:18 PM »

1990 Kawasaki Jet Mate, currently not running, I took the stock carburetor off, put a bigger one on and turns out it needs a rebuild. All it needs is a carb rebuild and reinstall. I will throw in the stock carb and the replacement carb, both with the right manifolds. Compression is 150/150. It is all stock and all there. 650 stock motor. Comes with a bimini. Boat is in very good condition. With it running I would be listing it for $2,500. Trailer tires were new in 2015 and well as a complete trailer rewire. It is ready to tow. I have pink slips for boat and trailer and in my name. Never used in salt water, only at Big Bear Lake and the River. Current registration as well. Comes with original owners manual. Located in Ventura.  George.

Email me for more pics.  I couldnt upload the ones I have, kept getting "internal server error".  Except for these two.

Lower River / Waterwheel or Aha Quin?
« on: March 03, 2015, 04:01:54 PM »
Thinking of buying a place at one of these parks.  What are the pluses and minus of each?  Which one would you choose and why?  Looks like the space rents are about the same.  I know they both have fuel and a store.  Aha Quin has the bar and restaurant.  How do the stretches of river compare, proximity to popular sand bars, which one is better for wakeboarding (deeper water), what's better for jet boating (I do both), which is more of a party atmosphere and which is more family, etc.  I prefer a quieter place.
Is the lagoon at Aha Quin a big plus because of the flat, open water?  Does Aha Quin have more gear heads and race boats?  Seems like your a lot closer to the ramp and beach at Waterwheel, which I like.  What do you think?
Thanks for your help.

The Parker Strip / Big Bend RV Park
« on: February 26, 2015, 09:33:29 AM »
I'm in the early stages of researching a mobile at this park. Whats the word on it?  I heard they are fixing up. They don't have a website. How's the launch ramp? How's the dock?  Are the public bathrooms clean?  How's management? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Jet Pumps / Oil Leak from bowl?
« on: May 23, 2013, 06:05:34 AM »
Newb to jets.  Just had a new impeller and wear ring installed.  Started boat up in driveway.  Ran for about 30 to 40 seconds with hose and oil started dripping from the pin that the steering pivot on at the bottom of the droop.  Doesn't seem right? Are my seals shot? Thanks.
Here is a pic of the pin I am talking about.

I have ceramic coated headers that have water injected in them.  Is there any reason other than keeping them cooler and lowering the noise to run water through them since I can blue them (I think)?  Why shouldn't I just run them dry and not risk reversion if I don't care about noise or heat?

I have both a regulator and a gate valve and don't know why.  Seems redundant.  Anyone know why?  Here is a pic:

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Water pressure guage location
« on: May 07, 2013, 07:11:50 PM »
Have a BBC with a water pressure regulator.  I want to install a pressure gauge and was told to install it on the block somewhere.  Is this a good location?  It would be where the plug with the hex head is.  Are there better places?

The No Wake Zone / Noise restrictions in So Cal
« on: February 13, 2013, 09:02:35 AM »
Which lakes in So Cal are more lenient in terms of allowing loud boats?  I know they really don't care at the river, but is there any place locally?  I just sold my tournament wakeboard boat.  I now want to get a fast jet boat, but would like to know where I can use it.
