Are all of the waterways where yall boat as shallow as all of the pictures indicate? Is there no place to tie up where the water is deep or is this just a preference out west? Just curious because our tie up spots here are usually 50+ feet deep.

I sold my 1974 Eliminator

. The guy who bought it calls me back and tells me that he changed out the impeller on the Drake pump and that afterwards the boat GPSd at 68 mph. The best I ever did before was 52. Did he really pull that many more MPH with a fricking impeller change?

I dont have my pictures loaded yet but I bought a new boat last week and ran her this weekend. The purist will not be fans but she is certainly easy to control and maintain and I Put her to the GPS test this weekend and she dialed in at 69 with three aboard. It is a 2001 Sugar Sand Tango with a 240 mercruiser and a mercury sport jet. It is an IO boat with a jet pump. She runs on a 240hp mercury oil injected two stroke. Turns on a nut and runs FAST!

Ok My question is If I designed my motor to fit further forward and my pump further back on a 21' daycruiser and put a 2 speed powerglide between the two wouldnt I be able to get a TREMENDOUS amount more top end out of a relative standard big block?

There are lake speed limits in California? WTF? I love to visit yall out there but I just do not think i would wanna live there. I did a poker run last Saturday from dam to dam on lake Travis. 64 miles. I wasnt even in the top 50 but i did my damdest. Some of those guys are running 100+

I have a berk 12 jb-a with a stainless Impeller. Pump seems tight and appears to have been rebuilt (blue wear ring) I have given up starting the project I had planned years ago and I want to sell the pump. What is it worth?

I am considering buyin this boat. It is set up with an IO 350 and a alpha one outdrive. My question is can I LATER convert this boat using a Berk jet drive that I have? I think it would be SUPER cool to have a jet pontoon with OT pipes and loud as hell that will shoot a roost and hold 20 poeple!

My 1974 Eliminator DayCruiser has a Drake pump in it now. I have had no issues with it but I can not find ANYONE who knows anything about it. I GPS about 51-52 mph as it sits. Stock Hardin Marine 454. The drake has a Trim setup on it. My question is am I going to notice the difference if i do a swap with the 12jb or should i just stick with what I now have?

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Battery? Starter?

I have a 1974 Eliminator with a Hardin marine BBC The specs for the motor call it a HM405 they say it has 8.8:1 compression. If she starts first or second try its fine but if it doesnt it burns down the battery QUICK! I put in a new starter and it still does this. Do I need a mini starter or am I looking at problems with a battery that is too small? If I jump the battery it turns with no issue. How many CCA should My battery be?

The No Wake Zone / engine wont turn

Went out the other day and when it came time to leave it wouldn't turn over. Melted my battery cable. I have some guessses like maybe water got in the exhaust? what happens when a starter goes bad? Does it sound like its draggin? Wondering if I have water on top of the pistons and it cant compress? Any ideas before I start tearing stuff up?
