My friend is selling his 1988 19' Marlin ski boat. The engine is a 2006 Mercruiser 5.7 Liter engine and the outdrive is also a 2006 Mercruiser.  The hull is in good shape and the boat runs good. Asking price is $4,800 OBO.  The upholstery needs a little work or reupholstery in the near future.  The boat can be seen at The IronScroll, 2489 E 14th St # B in Yuma, AZ.  Owner's name is Francisco and he can be reached at (928) 941-0686.

Im looking for a set of BBC Bassett shorty headers. I have a set of twisties that were rechromed last year, also the lines were replaced last year. I don't mind trading or buying them used from someone who might have extras laying around. If your looking to trade, I have plenty of things to work out with.  ;D

It's been awhile since I posted here. I picked this up a few months back and just doing a little work here and there. Pretty much stock 454 with a berkeley pump. I took it to Vic's shop last night for a bit of impeller shaving.

Jet Pumps / Pump Swap

How hard is it to swap out a panther jet to a berkeley jet? Just cutting for intake and transom and leveling to the fiberglass?

Jet Pumps / Pump Rebuild?
« on: May 12, 2009, 09:57:51 AM »
I finally took out my gps this weekend and It "only" went up to 50mph @ 4200rpm. I could only imagine my pump is hurting for a rebuild.  It has a  "A" impeller, split bowl (12jb) with diverter. Whats the average price to pay for a pump rebuild? I'm sure it will need a few upgrades to hit 60plus mph. The pump sounds good, so I don't know why it doesn't want to squuze out a few more mph's. The motor is a fesh 454 bbc. topics are worthless without pics, so here are a few.

Jet Pumps / Droop Snoot
« on: April 05, 2009, 08:21:43 PM »
I have a Berkeley split bowl Jet with a PD and am looking to adding a droop snoot. What difference will I notice? How much upward angle will it give? I'm pretty much looking for a higher roost. I already have two 4 degree wedges in place (havent seen it in action yet) but I had 7 degrees and it was ok, but never took a pic of it, only saw it from the drivers view. Im sure by adding a droop and 4 degree wedge, it should give me what im looking for. Will I defeat the purpose of a droop, for getting what I want. I'm thinking a rooster booster will be too much, from seeing a few videos on you tube. I'm sure nonsense is getting the best of me here.....

Heres my boat with only a 3 degree wedge.

Jet Pumps / Bowl Transition Adapter
« on: December 26, 2008, 06:08:23 AM »
Does anyone use a Bowl Transition Adapter or "rooster booster?" Would I notice a big difference?
ARSmarine sells them for $264.99 and figured I'd check if someone had one before buying it.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Safe RPM's
« on: August 27, 2008, 01:36:46 PM »
Whats a safe RPM to be at? I have a 468 bbc.

I usually run mine at about 3000-3500 rpm's. I'd like the engine to last, so I don't gun it too much.  ;D

Another question I had is, I've seen headers with the oil drain plug from the valve covers, but mine aren't like that. I have a standard oil breather from my valve cover, and it gets alittle too much oil, so it's dripping alittle throughout the day. Should I just use the oil breather with the spout and use a hose so the oil could leak on the bottom of the transon, rather than the headers? It's not much, and I'm talking about a few drips.  Maybe I'm just a worry wart.  :-\
