Project boat for sale that needs to go. Don’t get it twisted not desperate just needs to go. I started tearing into it and realized I just don’t have the time for the amount of work that needs to be done. If you’re a go get er then this is the project for you.
Things I’ve done: removed the foam from the bow, removed bulkhead, and stringers, pulled pump (intake is still in boat).  Boats sitting on roadrunner tandem trailer (needs some work though). The bad it all needs to be put back in, and transom wood needs to be replaced. Gel coat is faded but will buff out.
The good: boat has full set of gauges (original), Berkeley jc pump, two stainless steel Imco saddles tanks (not separating).
1000.00 OBO
Also have a boat dolly that I can throw in if interested.

Thanks

Shawn

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Electrical Issue
« on: October 15, 2018, 02:09:58 PM »
My last trip out my boat decided it wanted to have a fit. We launched the boat late in evening and cruised up river for dinner and the boat ran fine with no issue. After dinner I plugged in the light and headed back to camp. Within 5 min of running the boat die, and I lost all electrical no lights, ignition, blower nothing. I checked all the connections I could with the limited amount of light from cell phones, and did not find any loose connections. After being towed back, and boat on the trailer, I checked everting the next morning and still could not find anything. For shits and giggles I tried starting the boat and it fired right up. So then I pulled the boat to the ramp tried to fire, and nothing. Same a the night before no lights, blower or anything. So I sat and scratched my head for a sec. then tried firing again and she fired. I let the boat run for a couple minutes to see if it would turn off, but noting happened. Didn't want to risk having it shut off on me again we didn't run the boat for the rest of the weekend. Has anyone ever experience something this? I've searched this site and others and really didn't see anything with same situation. Just to be clear batteries are charged and good, ground wires are tight, all wires under dash are tight. No burned wires anywhere that I can see. I'm at a loss.

The No Wake Zone / 2015 Summer
« on: September 08, 2015, 09:56:01 AM »
I can't say it enough, thank you to everyone that helped during the process of getting the boat running again! 2014 was a long summer not being in the water. I've had several phone calls, text, and emails with members that are, and were, more than willing to help out. Hope to some day be able to return the favor. If not at least let me buy some cold ones

Look forward to seeing you on the water, and continue meeting members!

The No Wake Zone / Too cold?
« on: June 12, 2015, 08:22:18 PM »
After spending a couple nice looking pennies on a rebuild, I took the boat out last weekend and it ran great. Had to tighten a couple things here and there but for the most part from what I can tell she ran flawless. I did notice my temp would not get above 100. Like a dummy I didn't check while idling. Only when I shut down the gauge would climb to 140. Good or bad? I don't have a gate valve to reduce flow. Can a engine run too cold? Seems most guys like to be 140-160 and possibly 120 range and 180 idling. I'm pretty sure the boat ran about 140 before the rebuild, but then again that was two years ago. Can an engine flow more water being rebuilt? Also while checking the the oil filters they seemed a pretty warm, maybe I'm just being paranoid. I know they warm up, I just don't know how hot or warm. I just can't see myself paying for another rebuild for a minor overlook on my part. Sorry kinda all over the place, and I know you guys are gonna need more info. Any help is much appreciated

Engine info:
454 30 over
Mild port to heads and intake by BRE
I believe 10/10 grind on crank
Cam reground to match heads
Center riser exhaust
Holley 750 double pump (no pressure gauge)
Holley red fuel pump
American turbine at309 with inducer

« on: February 05, 2015, 09:34:24 AM »
Calling all Vegas peeps or anyone that has been. Wifey and I are planning a trip to Vegas for our 15 year anniversary, question to you guys other than the touristy things to do what would you recommend? Neither one of us has been to Vegas, and are not into your typical tourist bs. Although we do plan on going to red rock, and maybe a show. Any info would be great thanks

Whats Cookin? / Chile verde
« on: February 01, 2014, 08:28:00 PM »
Tomatillos
Jalapeños
Cilantro
Brown Onion (I used a Mayan)
Salt to taste
Fire roast tomatillos if you'd like (but not necessary). If you roast tomatillos put in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap to peel the skin.

Blend the veggies, then put in a pan with a little oil. Bring to a light boil, then simmer until your desired thickness

Cube pork loin chops, and brown in a heavy pot with oil, garlic, and onion

Add the verde to the pork cover and simmer about 2 hrs or until tender and cooked through

Enjoy with your favorite beer, cheers!

The No Wake Zone / Project
« on: September 15, 2013, 02:55:42 PM »
Ladies and gents, this non mechanically inclined, no construction skilled, but willing to take the time and learn boater is looking to jump balls deep into a project boat. I currently have a cruiser, and well.... looking to go faster (who wouldn't)! In a perfect world I'd like to pick up a hull that's complete minus motor and pump, but looking around there's no way that's in the budget right now. Anyhow back on track. I really like the look of bubble decks. I'm not vary familiar with many of the classic hulls other than Hallett, Howard, Southwind, Challenger, Kona, Tahiti. My question to everyone is when looking at older hulls (mid 70-80's), what should I be looking for? I'd like to get something in the 18-19' range, semi v, tunnel would be awesome, but that thing called cash gets in the way. Ive also been in contact with Paul at High flow dynamics, and he came up with a nice combo around 500hp. I didn't want anything bigger. I'm not a die hard chevy or ford fan, just want something easily maintained, reliable.
Originally I was going to swap out the 454 in my current boat for the 460 realizing I was going to have to swap everything out. So why not put all those parts into a project I thought. This is my current float that I'm keeping as my cruiser, and if the project doesn't work out. I'll have a bad ass 460 to throw in!
Thought's, suggestions?

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Hmmm!
« on: June 07, 2013, 09:39:00 PM »
Pulled plugs yesterday after oil change and found this. I'm no expert but this can't be good. I recently swapped out carbs, and put the boat in the water once for a couple laps. Plugs shouldn't look like that after a couple of laps should they? Grant it, I did not pull the plugs to see what they looked like before carb change, guess I kinda have to take that into consideration. I'm kinda confused now to see if I need to change the jets or not. Boat ran fine (well... ok) with old plugs. Hope to be on the water to do a plug read to find out which way I need to go.

Jet Pumps / Dialed Pump?
« on: June 01, 2013, 08:41:30 PM »
Ok, so after doing a lot of reading mainly from this site, a lil from other sites, and looking at my Marine Power manual.  I've come to the conclusion that I'm not gonna be able to spin more than 4600 rpm and get about 48 mph (non GPS), with current set up (stupid me, should have read the manual first :banghead:) With that being said, I want to get the most out of my pump... Set up Carrera 202xr with 330hp marine power eng, American Turbine AT 309 with inducer, A impeller, and SE Sport Loader. Pump was rebuilt last season by GS Marine.  Other than a droop is there anything else I can do to maximize my pump to get a lil more out of it?
I pulled these questions from another thread and I'll answer as best as I can.

What motor? Marine Power 330 hp sport pack
Advanced timing at over 3000RPM? unknown
Vacuum generated at WOT? unknown
What cam? unknown (stock)
What carburetor? Holley 4150, 750 cfm (just installed)
What ignition? magnetic (stock)
Verified the linkage at WFO? me (doubt it!)
Any clue where the cam timing is? nope

SoCal Lakes / test run
« on: May 12, 2013, 09:22:42 AM »
Gonna try and head to lake Perris tomorrow to check for leaks, tune, and run. If anyone is in the area and wouldn't mind helping me out that would be great. I need help with the idle mixture, and possible timing (I think).

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Edelbrock Carb?
« on: April 14, 2013, 10:57:37 AM »
Ok, so whats the deal with Edelbrock carbs (I'm pretty sure I opened up a can of worms with this one)? In most threads Holley is carb of choice, just difficult to dial in, all the talk though. Q Jets seem when properly tuned they run hard, and easily maintained. What about Edelbrocks? Just curious, cause I'm in the middle of getting her fired up, and possible carb change. I bought a marine Edelbrock after reading reviews (amazon) and cost, to replace a Q jet (was that a mistake?). I just don't see any threads about Edelbrock carbs. Is there an obvious reason for that? With other members suggestions I'm installing a pressure regulator along with pressure gauge and inline fuel filters. Sorry for the ignorance folks I'm definitely learning a lot from this site and as I go along.
Set up, Carrera 202XR open bow, Marine power 454 sport pac 330hp (I think), all stock original parts, AT pump with A impeller and inducer rebuilt by GS Marine last season.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Electric Fuel Pump
« on: March 06, 2013, 10:13:36 PM »
Looking for a little advice. I'm in need of a new fuel pump, as of now I'm torn between a Holly Red or Carter. I'm running an all stock marine power sport pack, but looking to do minor mods to the eng. in the future, nothing too crazy ;). Pros and cons between the two?
