Boats For Sale / Howard/Crusader I/O f.s.
« on: June 08, 2016, 12:44:13 PM »
1988,23' "off shore" type hull. SBC w/ Volvo 290 sp outdrive. I've had this for 5yrs and never ran in water only on hose. Motor sounds healthy with some new gaskets showing. Outdrive shifts,no weird grumbling when turning. Gel's good, couple gouges, none onto fabric. Interior good, all real tuck n roll,no tears or rips. Nice bimini, "stainless" fittings.
The 350Chevy's starter needs shims or it is wrong, grinds bad and the drive "sinks". The pump probably needs rebuilding or seals.
The trailer's wheels and tires are new,0miles. Needs bunks and carpet now! Needs paint, has some rust.
Yeah it's not a jet,but it it a beautiful, unique Crusader, make a really nice prop job. I'm pretty much out of space and time. I really hate to see this boat go to shit. 6K or offer.

I want to change the Mercruiser throttle assembly out to a jet boat type throttle. I do have the forward reverse lever, and a MerCruiser hot shoe (?) throttle now. But I hate that and it's got to change. Any ideas or suggestions would be truly appreciated.

« on: April 15, 2016, 02:01:40 AM »
Hey. Just purchased a 1996 Carrera. Got a highly detailed engine build sheet from a Hans Jakob of Precision Custom Engines out of Ontario Cal.
Anyone hear of them, any work done by them? Just curious about it. Thank you.
P.S. I should paid more attention in H.S. math class to fully understand the "build sheet" but my head was up my behind about my '65 Dodge Coronet 2-door post in the parking  lot......chitt.  LOL.

For Olds 455. This part relocates the vertical oil filter into horizontal. Also provides for oil cooler . I'm thinking there was a spring and ball that go somewhere. I have a text to their tech department but no reply yet. Any idea where they would go?

, ignition box, terminal strips, ignition kill switch, gas tank selector valve etc. to the transom. I'm thinking and aluminum or plexiglass plate to fit the transom shape. Rubber feet to insulated. I'd like a minimum of screw holes in the transom. Any  pictures perhaps, any thoughts or ideas appreciate it. Thnx!

Projects / New pump,new motor.....now what?
« on: October 17, 2015, 10:59:12 AM »
So you've got a $10,000 motor and a $7,000 pump all brand new and you need to "break" both in.BTW, all this is installed in your 6/10K$ hull and trailer. A sizeable investment in time, money and effort. A person really doesn't want to repeat any of this again, not really. So what is the process to "break" your new motor and pump in? On the trailer on the hose, in the water on the trailer?? What did you do? How'd it work for you? Any advice to share? Just asking and Thanks.
