Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Starter issues
« on: May 31, 2019, 04:38:39 PM »
Having a little trouble getting my starter to engage properly. It’s an IMI high torque top mount starter on a Imco bbc 4 point mount. Makes a nasty noise when starting and likes to spit off the starter gear spring and clip after running for a while. Thank you in adavance

Gunnel tanks that came out of the Rogers I believe they hold 13 gal a piece. Brand new sender, clean on the inside. Pin hole on the bottom of one. Little bit of TIG action and they’re good to go. 100 bucks and they’re yours

« on: August 14, 2017, 04:41:56 PM »
From looking at the pics can any of you gurus guess what caused it. It's a blown 461 .. 1:1 on the pulleys, not sure what the final compression is I know it's 8.7:1 before the blower. Not sure how much boost. All new parts first season on the motor

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: Valve covers??? eBay sponsored
« on: April 21, 2016, 11:21:39 PM »
I don't know about these ones in particular but I just recently purchased a set of fabricated valve covers for my bbc and they leaked out of every bolt hole so I'm skeptical of these things now I'm going to try to buy some rubber o rings to stop the issue but none the less what a pain in the ass... Hope these work out for you

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / That doesn't look right
« on: March 21, 2016, 03:31:28 AM »
So I finished scraping off the old gaskets getting ready to set on my new intake manifold when I realize there's a square port that is exposed that was covered by the old manifold what am I missing here?

The new manifold is a victor Jr stamped 2904.. The old one was an edelbrock performer 2-0 stamped 2161
Motor is a 454 gen IV..
I also looked at the markings on the heads and curious to see what anyone knows about them "3964290" any help is appreciated and thank you in advance
