Jet Pumps / Dominator Pump Rebuild & Removal

So I need to rebuild my pump as it made some bad noises last Saturday. The pump rebuild is not an issue as I am a pump mechanic by trade. My concern is that I'm told the suction housing is epoxied to the hull. If the thrust bearing failed and allowed the rotating element to move forward it may have wiped out the suction housing so does anyone have experience removing and installing a suction housing that has been epoxied to the boat?

Jet Pumps / place diverter buttons

Does anyone know why my place diverter buttons would shock me when I push either up or down buttons? I was told it was a grounding issue so I went straight to the engine block but no luck. The guys at place diverter tell me to run a power wire to the battery instead of the ignition switch but that is a pain in the ass on my boat and I cant understand how that would make a difference although electrical is not my thing. Just curious if anyone has heard of this and what the solution was.

My place diverter button shocks me, has anyone else had this happen?? I feel like I have a built in defibrillator lol, the shock is pretty strong!

Jet Pumps / Universal Joint Repalcement Questions

Hey guys,
I'm an experienced mechanic but new to the jet boat world and one of my u joints went bad over the weekend and I have a few questions that about replacement. I have a sport pack 454 with a Dominator jet. There is a bell housing with about a 3" hole in it I'm assuming for inspection and servicing? I removed the cover from the hole and can see the grenade u joint, its the one closest to the jet. Now for my questions
1) It looks like I will need to pull the motor so when I do will the splined yoke slide of the pump shaft by moving the engine forward?
2) I have through transom exhaust with 4" rubber hoses that connect the manifolds to the pipes going through the transom. Will these come off as I move the engine forward? They seem too stiff to just pull out of the way. I have a few more questions but will wait to see if I'm on the right track. Thank you for any help or suggestions!

Just have to finish stereo install, wash wax and I'm pretty much ready for the river. I bought the boat about 2 months ago and have done some upholstery work, place diverter, fuel pump and filters, oil change, engine compartment blower and gas shocks to hold up the engine cover , speedo pick up tube, fuel tank sending unit, painted the swim step, nozzle and ride plate, painted the trailer and put LED lights, new winch strap, safety chains and transom tie downs

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Engine Dies if I floor it for more than 15 - 20 seconds

I bought my first jet boat a few weeks back and took it to Elsinore yesterday to test it out. Its a 19997 19.5' commander with a sportpac 454 and a quadrajet (all stock). The boat runs great and accelerates without hesitation. But when I get on it and the secondary's open it runs strong for about 15-20 seconds and then starts to die as if its running out of gas or is vapor locked. I have heard that boats with enclosed engines can have this problem so my plan is to remove the engine cover and try it out, what do you guys think? The fuel filters are new and it does the same thing regardless of which gas tank I have it running on.

I just bought my first jet boat. I have had several other boats and hot rods and do almost all my own work. My question is what is the easiest / cleanest way to change the oil since the oil pan goes pretty deep into the bilge and access is pretty limited.
