Well I guess now is as good of time as any to start a thread of this build, considering that i started 3 yrs ago and now I'm about 85% done.
A quick history about this project:  I bought the boat in 94' from a 65yr old guy from Texas trying to re-live his childhood, his nice little gray haired wife was deathly afraid of it , hence the sale to me! I ran it for year and a half before the bottom end shit the bed! (knocked the skirts off the #4 piston) So I parked it and and decided to build a blower motor with the 6-71 i had sitting in the garage.  .........Fast forward 11 years as life,divorce, multiple career changes and whole bunch of other stuff went on.
In 2008 I dug it out and decided it was time to get going.......after looking things over I thought to my self "holy crap this is going to be a lot of work... and money"  Oh well, you only live once and life is to short to not enjoy it!
So enough with the Dr. Phil B.S. back story you say?  Where its at today and where the hell are all the pictures?

Motor is done
pump is done
seats are done
paint and bodywork is done.....(as of last week) major pain in the ass!

Still left to do:
interior floor (wood and flow coat)
complete re-rig of everything
wiring
gauges
oh yea, and build a new trailer (old one is so rusted out you can kick a hole in it with you toe!)

Heads have all rocker studs and guide plates And have been completely gone threw, soda blasted, de-burred, valve job, decked, spring rates checked and installed heights set. new locks and new valve seals. 100% ready to bolt on. Intake valves 2.200 and 1.760 exhaust.

Dominator MB12S pump, Impeller is alum. large C or small B.  bearings and wear ring in very good shape. Bowl is polished (but not very well, could stand to be re done) Suction housing needs cleaned and painted. Menkens  V-drive (came out of working boat) appears to have somewhere between 10% to 15% overdrive gears in it. In/out gear leaver works very smooth. Is missing 1 aluminum strut brace (Easy to make) I'm open to a fair offer  "not" the standard SCJB offer LOL

Sorry it this topic has already been covered, looked but did not see any thread. Where is the line in the sand on these two U-joints?  ...Is it horse power 600hp,700hp,800hp or is it torque# or impeller cut or boat weight. (or driver weight) ....Your thoughts?

New big block chevy 10 quart + filter gen 5/6 oil pan. milodon part number #31556.(link to web page http://www.milodon.com/oil-pans/marine-oil-pans.asp) application calls for offshore or jet boat. Although pan is listed as new it has been bolted to an engine but has not been run and no oil has been poured in it.(I switched from gen 5 to mark 4 and need a different pan) A small area on the widage tray had to be clearanced to clear the oil pick-up. Comes in original box, also comes with a brand new still in the package Milodon Extreme Duty Pickup #18202.
