The No Wake Zone / Sutphen Super Pacer fuel tank
« on: July 18, 2023, 06:35:45 AM »
Good morning looking to see if anyone has removed the fuel tank from one of these.
I am just getting ready to put it back in the water and decided to pressure test the fuel tank to make sure it didn't leak.
What I did was blocked off the fuel fill and vent at the tank. I set up a tee fitting to screw into the suction side that had a Schrader valve and gauge so that I could read the pressure and it would hold in the tank.
I can't seem to get over 1psi. I do hear air leaking but with soapy solution can't find it. My guess could be leaking from the sending unit or the tank itself.
Anyone be into one of these yet?

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / 460 Berkely port and polish
« on: January 09, 2022, 06:01:02 AM »
ok so I finally purchased a set of Berkeley center rise manifolds. I laid the gasket over the ports and found a lot of material that could be removed to help them flow better. I have included some pictures of how they look with one of the ports already started.

These are not high polished like most but are done in a black wrinkle finish, I can post pictures later looking for $300.00 shipping included. Sorry no Venmo payments just got burned so Paypal only accepted no friends and family.

Suggestions / Support / watch out for breej
« on: October 02, 2021, 05:49:15 AM »
Ok members be careful of who you deal with here I know it was a stupid mistake on my part trusting someone I didn't know.....
quick details are breej turned me over to his buddy selling a set of center rise BBF manifolds.(prrt57@yahoo.com) I contacted breej before doing any deals and he stated that he has dealt with him several times.
long story short I spent $350.00 for nothing in return.
I have bought several parts from other members on this site with no problems and thought that possibly I was dealing with a real gentleman.

moderators please let me know if this is posted in the wrong location.

Projects / New Engine Build
« on: February 09, 2021, 08:33:57 AM »
Hello new here to jet boats but not to building engines. I've got a 460 that I am redoing trying to keep it dependable but putting some decent parts in it. Block is going .030 over with a .000 deck, heads are Performer RPM 60665,Pistons are JE flat top -3cc, intake is an Air Gap Performer RPM, Holley 850cfm mechanical carb. I've heard about issues with oil pans so I went with a Dooley 9 qt.
OK so here comes the question Id like to use a solid roller cam but not sure about specs. I was looking at the Comp Cam site and thought the 34-803 or 34-850 looked a bit to much.
Anyone have any first hand experience other than to call comp?
Boat is a 20' Sutphen

Projects / Sutphen Super Pacer
« on: February 02, 2021, 06:57:19 AM »
Hello I m new here and new to Jet boats. I picked up a 77 Sutphen Super pacer with a 460. Previous owner had a set of Basset water injected TT headers on it. I dont think he had them set up correctly and filled the engine with water.
Here is the question,
It has 4.0 tips with internal baffles and I have a set of Hardin log manifolds and snails  I would like to install. The snails are 3.0 outlet and The Bassett had 4.0 outlets,do they make an adapter or different size snail or can I cut off the outlet and weld on a 4.0 aluminum pipe?
