Hey, I know most of you dont have to deal with winterizing your boats but I sure do. I was just wondering if you guys had any tricks to make next seasons first start any easier? All Iv done is run antifreeze through the block then pull the drain plugs on the block aswell. Ill be pulling the carbs off aswell but thats for a rebuild. I still have to drain my fuel tanks and pull the battery. Any other tips while I had to uncovered for the last time until the heat comes back? It gets pretty damn cold in the winter up here (31 degrees right now) and I dont want to forget something stupid.

I know, I know.. VDrive! Still figure I might find a buyer here. Im listing this boat for a buddy of mine here in central Cali. Heres what I have on it so far.. Its a 1977 23 foot Eliminator closed bow day cruiser with a Casal 500 VDrive, two speed turbo 400 tranny, Blown intercooled BBC sitting on a clean comp trailer. Boat is clean and solid. Its turn key, he had it out last weekend. Never GPSd but runs strong for such a big boat. B&M Mega 420 Blower, Intercooler, JE Forged .060 over pistons, H Beam Rods, 4340 Steel Crank, Girdled, ARP mains and head studs, 990 heads with work done, Roller rockers, flat tapit cam.. Hey, So I just got offered a smokin deal on an 08 Super Duty.. and I think Im going to pull the trigger. I was just wondering how you guys liked yours. I have the 7.3l right now which I like alot, but its just not modern enough to make me happy. Looks like a damn work truck and that wont cut it anymore. Iv driven the 08 alot and I know its well taken care of and has 36k miles. Iv never towed anything with them and thats what concerns me. I never keep a truck longer than 2 years but I want to change that! I atually really want a Duramax but for the price Im having a hard time walking away from these damn Fords!

Hey, Is there a way to know what size AN fittings I need to order without guessing? Im new to the AN world and was told that 6 AN was 5/16, 8 AN is 3/8, and 10 AN is 1/2.. but thats just not seeming to work out right. I have to order a bunch of fittings to run my waterline and guessing just isnt going to cut it! Thanks

I notice that alot of you use 2wd pickups to tow your boats.. My question is how well do they pull your boat out? We have pretty steep ramps around here but Id really like to use my custom 97 chevy 2wd to tow mine around for the cool factor. Fords just not that cool lookin anymore.  I plan on getting a limited slip or posi for it. Its also on 20s and low pro tires if that helps..

How do you calculate what sizes carbs will function best with your displacement? Is there an actual scientific way to figure it out? Im trying to decide what size carbs to run with my tunnel ram on a mostly stock 396 or 454.. Iv heard everything from 450s to 600s and even tuned down 850s..

Hey, Im building a motor finally and need to know where to find an oil pan pickup tube? Im having no luck. Its a GIL and Im not sure the quart amount. I was hoping to find a website that would show me what to measure and where I can order the damn pickup! Thanks.

So I need new steering cables for my V-Drive and Im not sure what route to take.. Do I need to pull the cables, measure them, and order new ones or should I be looking into a rack and pinnion style conversion? Iv heard its possible and fairly simple to change over to the rack and pinnion style but I have no experience with ANY steering setups. Any ideas?

Well, I sold the Howard and decided I still wanted a V-Drive around for the smoother days on the lake. I was trying to buy this Eliminator a few months ago and the guy still had it when I finally got the cash together. Here she is. This season shes gettin the stock 454 out of the jet boat just to finish the season then when winter time comes around Im building a mild 468 to putt around with. Its alot better start then the Howard was and I think Ill be happier with the end result. This is also the first boat Iv got with a decent trailer! Im pretty happy about that.

BBC Motor Plates

Ill try out the auction deal! I have some BBC Plates.. Front, rear, and flywheel cover. Looks like they can be shinned up pretty nice. I have no idea what they're out of. They came with a motor I bought off of CLs.

Whats the best way to mount saddle tanks? When I got the boat they just had mat glassed like bands over the front and top of the tank in 3 places. Is this pretty comon? I think its about my only option other than welding some flat stock onto the tanks and glassing the flat stock to the hull.
